Windsor — Local services in Madison

One week ago, I made a in store purchase from the East Towne Mall. I live an hour away from the closest Windsor store. It’s not very often I make a drive to Madison because I work and have three young children. Coming to Madison is a planned-all day trip.

Today, April 2, 2021, I made the trip to Madison with my fiancé and three young kids. I had stopped at the Windsor in West Towne Mall (because it’s the closest store to where I live) to return a one body suit. Tags attached, receipt in hand and within the 14 days. When it was my turn at the counter, I placed the body suit on the counter and laid my receipt on top. Immediately, the girl at the register (I believe the employee’s name was Brittney and I believe she’s the store manager), pointed to my receipt and said verbatim “I can not return this because you bought this from East Towne.” I’ve worked for the store Windsor in Appleton WI and have never heard of not accepting returns because it wasn’t bought from your store.

After my interaction with the employee at Windsor, my family and I made the additional half hour drive to the East Towne Mall. The girls at Windsor in East Towne Mall were much more friendly and willing to help. I explained my situation and was informed that the Windsor store at West Towne Mall purposely doesn’t accept returns because they don’t want it affecting their numbers. I was also informed that I am not the first person who had this issue.

I will be contacting the BBB for Windsor - West Towne Mall’s fake policy. Specially if I’m not the only one they told they couldn’t return items for because it wasn’t purchased in their store. Something needs to be done and someone needs to be held...

Sadly just had a very poor experience at this location. I purchased two dresses for my daughter 8 days ago. At the time I was told by the employee that I could return either of them within 14 days. I expressly spoke with them about this because I knew we were only going to need one dress because my daughter was not able to come with to try them on.

When I stop back out today to return one of the dresses the shop was closed for over a half hour with an out to lunch sign. After waiting all that time when I went in to do the exchange I was told that I could not return this item due to it being "Out of season".

I just bought it 7 days ago so it's the same season. Also I explained to the employee that I expressly spoke to the person when I purchased it and was told that I could return one of them no problem within 14 days. She said they couldn't do anything and then started helping the next customer. Very...

I came to this store at 6:55 pm on a Thursday, a full hour before they say they close on the website. The shop was closed: lights off, gate down, no explanation. There is a sign on their door that says they close at 7 (different from the website for some reason?) but it wasn’t even 7 when I arrived and it clearly had been closed for a while. I asked another mall employee what was up, and he said the hours are all over the place, that sometimes they don’t open until 12:30. It’s fine if you have to change hours for staff shortages or whatever, but PLEASE TELL US. I’ll never shop here again because I literally don’t know when it will be open. Also, while I was standing in front of the store, I watched multiple groups of girls walk up, see that Windsor was unexpectedly closed, then walk to Tiger Lily a couple of doors down to get their dresses.
