Gyro Express — Restaurant in Madison

I have been going here with my family since they opened. Especially for the last 4 years we are going every Saturday. They don’t have etiquettes of talking with customers. You don’t get what you pay for. We get gyro plate each time and there are times when the amount of meat is super less even after paying for extra meat. So we quit paying for extra meat. Today we complained to them how there is very small amount of meat, not enough for gyro plate. The lady jumped in and started being rude that how she always use scale to measure 8oz of meat. Mind you we watch them all the time and no they don’t measure the meat. After spending nearly $40 each week for the past many years we won’t be returning because of their customer service. It’s not the first time we mentioned to the owner but many times. My sister last year had the same experience but she stopped going there too. I see they don’t care about losing the customers. We were very nice about it but the lady couldn’t take the feedback rather decided to jump in and be rude. Also, she mistakenly mentioned how many customers complain same thing how their quality is very less for meat but she always measures it. If many customers have complained then they really need to check their pricing and quantity. Also, they charge $20-22 for 1lb chicken gyro meat while other places charge $11 for 1 lb for lamb meat. Even though lamb meat is expensive than chicken. That’s some level of greedness.

My parents runs a restaurant too and they take very good care of returning customers because they are the people their business is running. I regret spending so much money here....

Although I ordered a chicken kabob, it’s definitely NOT what I received today. I received individual pieces of chicken and a salad with a white rice bedding 😂. Was NOT what was pictured on the menu and this meal was DRY and tasteless! I promise I’m not capping. Opt for the Jamaican restaurant across from this place instead!

After I complained that I did not receive what was pictured, they cooked the vegetables separately from the chicken kabob pieces and they did NOT have green bell peppers as pictured on their current menu. I ordered this meal because I really wanted green bell peppers 🫑 . This place does NOT deliver as it should AND IT TOOK NEARLY 15 minutes for me to receive my order on top of being dry! We kept hearing about this place but to be honest. We were skeptical, it’s in the mall… well not do I regret not trying this place sooner! We’ve been here twice now. We’ve tried their chicken shawarma wrap, chicken kebab, as well as their gyro. None of these meals disappointed. The shawarma is perfectly seasoned chunks of juicy chicken. The gyro was great, not too Lamby tasting for me, and the chicken kebab was deliciously charred! What a gem! Unexpected amazing Mediterranean food. Highly recommend.
