Food Lion — Local services in Manchester

I really like food Lion I like that it's hometown and I also like that it has a variety of things that you might need the one thing on my dad could you please get peace propel water I've asked year after year I'm right now ordering it from spring Street and it's our family owned store and we love them but in those big jobs they absolutely order it for me and it can be done it just bothers me that I ask and ask food Lion and they never would but I will never leave spring Street over this thank you and meantime food Lion my husband shops there my daughter shops there we shop a lot of places but I always have a special place in my heart for spring Street grocery I was raised up here since I was 23 years old I've always lived here and I'm from Manchester good luck in your hunt at food Lion today and that they've got it put back together cuz they didn't stop business to get the things that we needed but we got we got everything they had keep going sweet love 😘💕💕 everything subject to change and I still have my hope for peach propel water I don't like any of the rest of them but I love my peach thank you...

I guess it's alright for some. But the new changes are extremely inconvenient for me. The self checkout is alright for a few items but when I have a buggy full of produce that needs to be weighed or looked up, it's very annoying. I don't have experience in the grocery check out department. The problem is that early morning shoppers have no choice but to self checkout because no lines are open. This takes my shopping from convenient to double the time just for checkout. You'd think food lion could find someone who has experience or maybe a little more skilled than I am. Instead, I spend as much time weighing produce as it takes for me to shop the entire store while 6 employees stand and watch the snow. Unfortunately, in today's world, there are less and less options because these chains have destroyed local businesses who put customers first. Food lion.... please stop with the fake "hometown place" you try to pass yourself off as. You're just a smaller version of Walmart. Get em...

I started shopping at this Food Lion location during the pandemic because the store seemed more “normal.” Since the remodel and the new self-checkout registers have been installed the store is trying to force customers to use self checkout. The person overseeing the self checkout was VERY rude! At least Wal-Mart’s self checkout has a large enough space to checkout a large cart full.

Edit 3/14/22 I do realize that it’s hard to find good help in these current days. I don’t know what the solution is, but waiting over 20 minutes to pickup a scheduled pickup order is frustrating! Especially when the reason your waiting is due to short staff and as I’m leaving the employee that brought out my groceries goes to take a smoke instead of going back inside. Maybe it was time for a break… but there is something to be said about how things appear. This used to be my favorite grocery store but my last few experiences have left a lot to be desired in customer service and...
