BLVD — Local services in Manhattan Beach

The clothes were fabulous. However, I overheard something by the store clerk (most likely the manager or store owner not sure) that left me feeling not so great to the point where I dropped the clothes I was going to buy and walked out. Two times, I heard the woman working with long black hair make comments to what seemed like regular customers or friends she knew. And these comments were …. Not the best.

First comment was that she offered a particular customer a piece of clothing to try on. She then whispered to her younger co worker/floor girl that she should only offer this piece to “special clients” okay that was whatever and I brushed it off.

I continued trying on clothes and walking around until I overheard something else.

The second comment I heard was that a new customer (‘I could only imagine it was a “regular” of the store) came in looking for a specific pair of pants and she needed a small size. However, there was a woman trying on the small in the fitting room. The place is tiny, so you can hear everything. The woman with the long black hair says “oh give me one second I’ll get them from her” and points to the dressing room. She proceeds to knock on the wall where this woman was trying on clothes and says “hi ma’am are you done with those pants? I’ve actually already sold them so I need them back” Are you kidding me, I was shocked?!?! And THEN the woman trying on the clothes said back, “yes but these fit me and I was going to buy them” to which this woman with the long black hair said “oh well let me see if I can find anymore in the back” at this point I was disgusted and left. She did not already sell the pants ad I watched her just lie to the customer. She just had another customer come in (who she was more friendly with) looking for that size to try on. I had high hopes for this place when I walked in but it was a very pretentious or snobby atmosphere that I did not want to be...

I absolutely love and recommend shopping with BLVD - artistically curated with intention behind each find, and top-notch customer service! The shop owner, Brie, was beyond accommodating and friendly. Immediately answered my questions and helped me get a piece I had been eyeing for months. I felt like I was talking to an old friend - when someone's passion for what they're doing shines through, it's undeniable. If you are looking to support a small business during these stressful times, I highly recommend BLVD...

This is one of my favorite spots in Manhattan Beach - a cool collection of basics and special items that seem to all work together. Amazing staff that takes the time to help pull together a look or find the perfect piece you didn't know you were looking for (cardi, perfect t, sweat outfit,, dress up, professional and travel).
