I am currently working on a remodel home. I often shop at Menards because I prefer it over any home improvement store I've ever stepped into.I purchased over $3,000 worth of material this all weekend at your location.Every employee that I asked for help with finding things were so helpful and very pleasant. We love your store! That is, until I approached the cashier by the name of Asheal (please forgive the spelling of his name). This transaction was on Monday night around 7:00 p.m on August 29. As soon as we approached him to check out he had the worst attitude I've ever encountered. He actually shut his light off and walked over and leaned up against the rebate counter. I asked him to please scan my items and allow me to check out. He did so very reluctantly and never spoke a word. Instead, he had a look disgust on his face. After the transaction was complete I existed the building with my large amount of purchased items. When I got to the vehicle my boss and I realized I was not strong enough to lift the vinyl siding that we purchased. I then returned back into the store and did not approach him at first because he was not very welcoming and the first place. Instead I walked up to another male cashier and ask him if he could help me. He smiled and turned to Mr. Asheal and asked if he could come assist me right outside the checkout door. Mr. Asheal did not even reply, he turned and walked away and went behind the rebate desk. Right after that the nice cashier gentleman had a customer walk up to check out at his terminal. Obviously he could not assist me. Confused I walked up to Mr. Asheal and asked if he was paging someone that was available to come and assist us. He looked at me and very really said "there is no one that can help you." I had more than enough of his attitude by that time and made him aware that I would be contacting the store about his horrible attitude. I have worked in customer service for many years of my life. I have a person with such a horrible demeanor. I regretfully left the store knowing that I will never return there again. I'm very sorry that you have that employee representing your company. Otherwise your store is beautiful and every other employee deserves five stars and more. Thank you for your time. I'm sorry to have to...
Read moreI purchased a greenworks mower with a 3yr warranty on 8-3-21 from Menards in Manhattan KS. Retail price was 399 it was on sale for 299 and I had 53 in Menards cash I used on the purchase as well. The mower stopped working on 7-7-22. I looked thru the manual and the trouble shooting guide pointed to a failed safety switch. I called the Manhattan store and explained my issue. The person I spoke to said to bring it back since i had the receipt and they would exchange it. I brought the mower back on 7-8-22. The model I had purchased had been replaced with a new model but it was very similar and still retailed for 399. I took the replacement to the return counter and was then told I would have to pay 153 more for the exchange. I asked why and was told that since it wasn't the exact same model I now had to pay full price and that the 53 in Menards cash was not refundable. I believe that i was lied to about doing an exchange and should not have had to pay more. I told them I would pay the 100 more but wanted the 53 taken off since it was credit I earned from previous purchases not this one. They said no. I asked for a refund so I could purchase one somewhere else and was told i could only get a store credit. So no matter what they were going to take and keep my money. I believe this a very under handed and dishonest way to...
Read moreI’ve shopped at several Menards locations. Everyone is fine until I get to the part where I’m asked to pay. First, why does every single credit card reader at ever single store across the country act like it’s falling off its pedestal when you put your card in? It’s a hardware store for crying out loud, screw the thing down properly.
Second. I use this card everywhere I go for cash back rewards. The card works. EXCEPT HERE! I’m following the on screen instructions. Please insert card. It doesn’t read. Please remove card and swipe. I swipe the card. Card cannot he swiped, please insert chip. I insert the chip again. Now it tells me to swipe. That doesn’t work. How in the heck do you expect people to pay? Why are you not accepting Apple Pay or Android pay? It’s 2022, Tesla has almost solved the problem of self driving cars, but Menards card take a freaking credit card payment or keep the reader from falling off its mount.
I’ll go to ACE from now on, they let me pay with my phone so I don’t have to mess with 1990’s...
