Ruined my daughter's birthday dinner. My daughter was given the choice of any restaurant she wanted and she selected pizza ranch. We sat down a 7 person party and with in minutes there were so many flies it made it impossible to enjoy our meal. There were 5 flies on the window, multiple trying to get on our food, i even had one land right on my face. They were on everyones hair and clothes. The flies were relentless. I went to the front counter to ask the worker if they had a fly swatter or could fix the situation and they said there was nothing they could do and offered a refund. I accepted the refund and went back to finish the meal. Few minutes later the bus boy came over and asked if he could talk to me saying "the manager said you were refunded and you have to leave". I then went up front and talked to the worker that refunded me and the manager and they said that we can finish what's at our table and leave, no more trips to the buffet. I Told them that if that's how it would have been presented initially I wouldn't have accepted the refund. It was my daughter's birthday dinner and we were chased out by a swarm of insects and deceptive employees. For the record I've gone here numerous times and never had a problem. This time there wasn't enough pizza out, pasta was dry, sauce for the pasta was dried out. My daughter was extremely upset after we left and felt like her birthday was ruined by this ridiculous service, poor enviornmemt, sub par food and insulting staff.

Read moreThe last 3 visits were all about the same, if it was slow or busy. The food was not well stocked. No salad on the salad bar. At 6pm there was one pizza on the whole bar. The chicken was not very fresh and the choice of pieces was slim. The green beans looked like dried up spinach on top. No gravy except what you could scoop from the very bottom of the well. This has been on going, the food is not keeping up. We had a private party and the room was at about 64-65 degrees, it never got much warmer over 2 hours.
Update 1-9-2025 So it's a day with limited staff due to the snow storm 3 days ago. At 6:30pm there were a few pieces of warm chicken, nothing fresh. A couple breasts and bunch of wings and one thigh. The green beans were total mush, the potatoes dry and crispy on top. There were a fair selection of pizzas. I really don't need a person checking on me at a buffet, just make sure the food stays fresh and presentable. The salad bar was also as bad, wilted brown lettuce but the toppings were fairly well stocked. This is the third unimpressive trip in a row. Next time I'm just going to get a burger and not spend $45 for 3 people.
Occasionally you could catch fresh chicken coming out, by the time we left there actually were a few pizzas. The desert bar was no different a couple slices of 3 different ones that were picked over.
In prior years this was not the case. The manager would roam the house making sure things ran smooth. I see the register asks about leaving a tip now too. Pizza Ranch used to pride itself on paying the workers well. Exactly why would I tip 15-20% at a buffet where I get my own drink and food and the staff never once came in the get the stacks of plates?

I’ve seen employees eat with their bare hands and prep food without washing them first. Majority of staffing doesn’t properly soak and rinse off plates and there are always dirty plates set to the side by customers when they are trying to eat from the buffet. I was an employee for a month & was continuously harassed. I was told by management that in order for the manager to get her bonus every other month, they must reduce labor and increase sales to increase profit. Meaning, they will do and say whatever they can to get you to leave their establishment. I was encountered with racist remarks because I had individual extension braids that were in a high ponytail and the manager said “her hair is long, dirty, and greasy. (My hair gets soap and water on them everyday that I am in the shower.) The manager has also said on multiple occasions that she has spit in my drink that sat in the back of the establishment on the employees shelf. I was written up for a shift exchange that wasn’t administered properly with the correct paperwork I was never provided. Nor do they give you the proper scheduling you ask for upon hiring that accommodates you. I’ve specifiedy availability during my interview and never received a constant set schedule. THERE ARE NO CAMERAS IN THE DINING AREA. Meaning, any personal items can be stolen and other co workers steal tips. No one trained me properly and this caused issues with other workers.
