UPDATE 7/2025: We just purchased our 2nd Jeep from Van Horn in Manitowoc, WI and all we can say is that Taylor and the rest of the team were true to form making it seamless, quick and enjoyable. Clearly our business is important to them; 2 years later and they still worked hard to keep our business and treated us like we are their only customer!
ORIGINAL POSTING 6/2023: From the first message we sent via the internet til a couple days after the sale everything and everyone was top notch. Customer service is clearly number one for Van Horn and quality inventory and price come a close second. When we made the trip from our home in Dodge County to Van Horn Manitowoc, we were met by Taylor who was very accommodating.
Taylor is very knowledgeable on the product line and was focused on our needs in a vehicle. And although we had picked a particular vehicle to look at, he offered, without pressure, some other suitable options.
We discussed some financing options for the vehicle we decided on and Taylor, understanding our time constraints that day took the info needed and promised a follow up call.
At this point we would like to add that the entire staff at Manitowoc assisted where and when they could and everyone had a great sense of humor, which to us are two great qualities.
After we left, we had come up with several other questions and Taylor patiently handled all of the follow up phone calls and texts and expedited returning us the answers we were after.
On a gentlemen's agreement we agreed to purchase that vehicle the following day. We returned the next day and were on the way down the road in less than an hour.
It should be noted that we had been looking for a new vehicle for at least 7 months and really were not intending to buy... but the right vehicle, the right sales guy and the right company all came together to make it happen.
While we highly recommend Van Horn, we really would push you to contact Taylor at Van Horn Dodge / Jeep in Manitowoc! And we really appreciated the follow up call from Taylor a couple days later to make sure we were happy with our purchase and not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I have had the Jeep for a little over 2 months and I will say I am not happy with the product they sold me. Four days after the vehicle arrived, I noticed there were two leaks under the Gladiator. Took it to my local Jeep dealership. They were nice enough to fit me in their very busy schedule. After having the Jeep for 4 days they located and fixed two fuel line leaks. Got the Jeep back and two days later noticed another fuel leak. Took it back they had to replace the high-pressure fuel pump. (I was without a car for another 6 days) Then on December 12 a Diesel Engine Fluid (DEF) warning came up saying the tank was getting low. (The DEF fluid is refilled every 10,000 miles. Obviously when Van Horn serviced the Jeep before selling, they did not fill the DEF tank!). I filled the DEF tank. And one day later check engine light came on and a new DEF warning saying it needed a DEF service and needed to go to the Dealer, and the car would not restart in 200 miles. So once again I dropped the Jeep off at my local dealership on December 14 and I am again without a car, today it is December 20. (They are trying to fit me in b/c they didn't have any openings until January 8.) So bottom line is Van Horn sold me a Jeep with fuel leaks and DEF issues that could not have just appeared after delivering to my location. So, watch out when you shop with them and inspect your vehicle with a fine-tooth comb. Because Van Horn does not! They are not to be trusted. This Jeep has been in the shop more times in the past 65 days than my previous car was in five years of ownership. I am not a happy customer!
Great experience. Completely done online, text and phone calls. I was in Michigan and found the diesel Gladiator I wanted at Van Horn. Peyton was great to work with. Sent me videos of walk arounds and interior. Answered any questions I had. Price was right and got free shipping to boot! And Jeep arrived 24 hours after it was as picked up at Van Horn Manitowoc! Shout out to Kyle and Peyton. Good guys...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI overall had a good experience. I'm a returning customer and hope to remain a customer in case we change our minds on future vehicles. Sonny was great to work with, very down to earth and comical, though not our direct salesperson, just seeming to have the most knowledge and offer the most help. I wish I would have looked more into my vehicle as I didn't realize there were some minor issues, ie. Missing visor cover, therefore the lights don't work and their quote was $440 for a new one (eek!). Again, experience was mostly good & gives our family more space. I am also unhappy that I requested a detailing because I noticed a lot of yuckies when I test drove the vehicle. I was told they only detail once, however they would touch it up in the morning. I gave examples of the noticeable areas, with a response the next morning that it had all been touched up for me and upon arrival, it did not look like anything was "touched up". Now obviously, I can clean this myself but when a company "details" a car, should there still be wrappers and other things under the seats? Chocolate, I assume, on the ceiling in more than one spot?? I have kids, I get it, brought them along (I don't recommend doing this because it burnt me out to the point in which I missed the visor and didn't bother mentioning my disappointment in the detailing, though I did mention my dissatisifcation of having to fix the rims myself without a deal to do so (chips and large amounts of paint missing- over $500 additionally with their discount). Don't get me wrong here, I'm not hating but definitely pay attention to the details of the car and stand firm on the issues you face by speaking up. I've gotten very quiet as I've grown and tend to stew days later, however I am still happy (really miss my old car but needed space- these darn kids!) and I do not regret choosing Van Horn in Manitowoc! I just wish there was more accommodation with such a large purchase and a...
