We were at the HG off of Hulen, the people there are nice but not very helpful. We were looking for something in particular and needed 2 of what we were looking to buy. Hulen store couldn't do much to help us but provide us with a list of their other stores/locations numbers and left it up to us to call every store and see if they had any on hand. Unfortunately their systems are not synched they cant simply go on their portal to do an Item/sku lookup to see what store has or doesn't have the product, sooo 6 stores later, and several "you will need to come in and look for yourself but can't guarantee it"... as if... we finally called this location (Mansfield). Cheryl the associate there was AMAZING!!! she was very helpful provided great customer service, she went out of her way to help us look for what several other locations would not even take the time to do for a paying customer, she found it (WOOOHOOO Cheryl) and placed it on hold while we rushed to get there to pick it up (store was an hr away from closing and we were 30-40 minutes away). Cheryl came through for us, made me a happy woman (yes they are things) but none the less she did what no other HG would do. I guess I'm used to Pier 1 Imports customer service (Above & Beyond) I would have gone there but they don't have what I was looking for :-(... not even similar, so HG's it was. I guess you get what you pay for (even though HG is no less expensive that their competitors). I shop for convenience and great customer service not so much cost. In this case I will be shopping the Mansfield location even though I'm in Tin buck two... ALL...
Read moreThis location usually looks cluttered compared to other stores. Recently I attempted to purchase two items which were exactly the same that were on clearance.
When we got to checkout one of the two exact same items rang up for $60 more than the other clearance item. We questioned if we could get them both for the same price and were told no because one of the identical clearance items “was on the shelf longer - or they assumed it was.”
We decided to buy only one of the items . At that time we also purchased a laundry basket with lid . When we got home , we discovered there was a very nice throw inside of it which we did not know was there and did not pay for.
I returned the throw to the store location closest to me (not Mansfield ) and told them about our experience at the Mansfield location the night before. The employee was sympathetic about our experience with the two identical items , but maintained professionalism .
I don’t recommend the Mansfield location unless you are willing to dig through the cluttered shelves and isles as well as receive less than average customer service .

Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this store for many years and have always had positive experiences—until recently. During a visit, while browsing the hand towels, I overheard the manager say to an employee with a thick accent, “Hey, George, keep an eye on that girl.” At first, I didn’t think much of it, as there was another African American woman nearby. However, later—while I was in line to check out—I noticed the manager staring directly at me with a disapproving expression. It became clear that I was the person being singled out.
I left the store feeling deeply disappointed. It was evident that I had been unfairly profiled based on my appearance. What’s even more disheartening is that this judgment came from someone who also seems to be Hispanic.
Unfortunately, after this experience, I can no longer support a business that allows this kind of behavior. I will not ever be returning and will make sure I share my experience with all of my family and friends and...
