Siam Corner Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Mansfield

Pretty good, but not mindblowing. Considering the region its located in- it's not exactly competing with any similar places down the street or anything. I remembered this place before covid and during- They were helpful, food was decent and value was good. It was also a place near home that had Khao soi so I appreciated that since not all Thai places have it. I would recommend siam corner to people who wanted Thai food in Mansfield.

Today I did an order. Almost $20 now and instead of the 32oz soup container and large styroform container for noodles I remember ordering, I was given a 16oz soup container and small container for noodles. I know inflation isn't a joke, but this is absurd. We paid for dinner prices and got lunch/big appetizer portions. For perspective- Doing a quick search- their prices are actually close to, or are the highest for some dishes in a 25 mi radius. Thai house is well known, has been around for ages, more respectible portions for prices.

I'm not saying they have to load it up, but this isn't Thai fine dining. A reasonable price per portion isn't wrong to expect from any place from a diner. If I wanted to overpay for food, I would have ordered a kids meal from Mcdonalds from doordash or Ubereats and paid $25 instead.

I'm not mad because their food is bad. Its actully decent. I'm dissapointed because a place I recommended to friends and family practically robbed me and anyone else paying for these small dishes. I won't be recommending them anymore and will just drive the extra miles to Thai house, Sweet Rice Lao, or...

Today i come at 11.15 but the light still off and someone told me that the server haven’t come yet and maybe in 5 minutes so i waited and come back arounc 11.30.

At first, i order thai coffee, tom yum level 5 and chicken satay. The satay some still not cooked yet and the tom yum not spicy at all.. i asked the server chili powder but she keeps talking to other staff and forgot what i asked.

When i asked to refill the water, she said yes but not coming back and keep talking to other staff and keep talking on the phone. Until i must called her from my table. I still try to understand. And i order mango sticky rice with ice cream. The ice cream melted, sticky rice still hard and the mango too sour. Omg…

I eat slowly and then i go to the restroom. And this is the reason why i complained… they clean all the food that i haven’t finished yet. Even the water they took it.. only left my coffee and melted ice cream. This is make me so mad, why u didn’t asked me.. am i finished eating ?? And im still there, i just go to restroom… why u took my water too?? I’m working in a restaurant too, i always give good tips and never complained whatever the service or food like, but this time.. i really dissapointed! At least i still give u 18% tips!! But u better give someone good service!

U only got 2 tables and u cannot take care! Even 1 table in front of me complained a lot! As a server u should not playing your phone when u go to the customer! Really...

The Tom Kha Chicken soup is the type of soup that will lift your spirits on a tough day. It's the ultimate comfort food. Don't let coconut milk intimidate you from trying it. It's savory, sweet, and creamy and I can't get enough.

I also really love the Thai Fried Rice. You just have to experience it.

I've had some unremarkable Thai food from other restaurants, but this place is really special and the first to really stand out to me.

The quality and freshness are there, the portions are enough to share/have leftovers, you can tell the recipes and flavors are refined, and the food crafted with love and care.

Who knew Mansfield, Texas could be so lucky to have such a gem!

Warning about the spice: they do not play around. I took someone here who ordered a 5 out of 7 because they thought they knew their way around spice. I tried to warn them. They could only eat a few bites.

I order medium and find it's just enough, but if you're not sure, don't try to impress anyone and just start with mild lol. Work your way up from there.

I usually order takeout but the one time I dined in, I heard customers raving to the server about the food.

Editing to add: I got my sister to try this place and her exact words were, "Heaven. Absolute heaven." She got the pad garlic...
