If there were an option to write a review and give “0” stars, I would. My sister and I visited this location last night approximately 30 minutes before close. From the time we walked into the store, we were followed around as if the store attendants thought we were stealing. 10 minutes before closing time, we walked towards the cash registers to check out. I stopped at the aisle located directly behind the only cash register that was still operating (and had at least 3 guest still waiting to be checked out) when a store attendant walked up to me and asked if I was leaving the store as it is was closing time.
I looked down at the items in the cart I was pushing, at my phone to check the time (again 10 minutes before actual closing) and then at the attendant. “Sir, I plan to make purchases and I am just grabbing this primer before joining the check-out line. There are at least 3-4 people still waiting to check-out, as such I thought I’d back up a few feet into this aisle and grab this primer.” Realizing I picked up the wrong product, I walked back to the center of the aisle, replaced the product and when I turned around to grab the right item, the attendant was standing directly behind me. He asked, “can I help you? We are closing!” My sister then asked him why he felt the need to follow me into the aisle located directly behind the check-out, as well as why he had not addressed the other 3 guest in the aisle on the other side. She then explained that she felt very uncomfortable and assured him that we had intentions to pay for the items in cart. He continued to stand with us in the aisle and stood with us in line.
The other 3 guests walked from the aisle they were in and into an aisle further away from the check-out line. Nothing was said to them about checking out due to close. In fact, the guest in front of my sister and I raised a questions stating, “sir, aren’t you going to go and inform those ladies who are walking in the opposite direction that the store is closing?” The attendant, clearly surprised that his behavior was observed by several guests in line, walked in the opposite direction of the 3 guest.
There is no other way to put this. My sister and I are African American women. Every employee that followed us was white. To end our experience of feeling uncomfortable, we were racially profiled by a white male that worked for this Target location. We were and are paying customers. This is by far the worst Target experience. Seriously considering sharing the video clip of the...
Read moreMy sister and I visited this place on May 5th 2019. I had some stuff to returned and did so before shopping. I returned a cream and foundation and proceeded to go to the cosmetics section, where my sister was already at, as that was what we only intended to check out. I was checking the make up and shopping casually when suddenly a target employee comes up to me. I was looking at some Milani lipstick and turned around when she asked if I needed help, she appears quite shock to see me but proceeded to kindly tell me that there were tested samples that I could use if I ever needed it and to ask her. I was confused by her reaction but quickly thanked her and went on my way around to other aisles of the same department. Minutes later, while I'm looking at the cleansers and stuff, she comes back while putting products away and asks me a question, asking me about the item that I returned earlier. I was quite taken aback at this because I was wondering how did she know about an item I had just returned, but I continued to tell her the product, which was a Missha Snail Cream, and had a small talk about the product but in my mind I started to understand that they were keeping watch on us, maybe the guest services felt I was a suspicious person or something but I don't know what I did to give off that vibe. Mind you, I was wearing pretty nicely that day because we attended a birthday party nearby. The next thing I know, a security guard is there. I knew the security guard was eyeing my sister and I. I honestly don't know what the whole reason was, whether it was because we were the only Asians there and could be suspicious or something my sister and I had done but I don't remember doing anything to provoke or initiate that we could be shop lifters. At this point my sister and I are feeling quite uncomfortable and mad at this point and headed to the self checkout. And as I would've guessed, the security guard followed us there. We quickly pay our two items and stormed out the store. This will be the first and last time I ever visit this shop. I'm an avid target shopper and I've never faced or been discriminated as a shoplifter or have been one in my life. The employees made the whole trip bad and the fact that we were innocent in this made us furious. I still want to know why they thought we were there to shoplift that day, maybe it had been a slow day or something but never have I been so uncomfortable in a Target. Truly disappointing. Never want to step foot in...
Read moreETA July 2022 They appear to be making a serious effort to improve things. On my last three visits, I needed help from a sales associate, had no problem finding one, and they willingly took the time to help me and answer my questions, and in one case, even adjusting a price. The produce looked much fresher, and there was more variety. The store was cleaner and better organized. They have paper bags again. My only complaint now is that they have eliminated so many brands, offering their own house brand instead. This is OK for some things for me, but not for all. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I gave up shopping for produce there a few years ago, after too many bad experiences with spoilage. I was buying just packaged things and non-food items until recently, but I've given that up now too. They are eliminating customer choice in many ways. They won't carry paper bags anymore, just plastic. Besides being environmentally terrible, have you tried to carry home the equivalent of two paper sacks of groceries in a bunch of small plastic bags, especially items like eggs and breads which can break and squish? They are also removing many name brands and replacing them with their own brand, which I have yet to find comparable to the name brands in terms of quality / taste. More times than not, I was leaving there without the things I was shopping for, and finding a lot of pricing errors at check-out, where the price rung up didn't match what was on the shelf. They seldom have more than two check-out lanes open, leaving people to line up at self-service check-out lanes, so they don't have to provide jobs to people -- and there is no customer benefit / savings to this. There's no sense in going there at all anymore, it's...
