Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Maple Grove

Wish I could give zero stars. Disappointing doesn’t begin to explain our recent experience at this location. Basic summary; unless you are fine having your teenage son discriminated against (simply for being a teenage boy)…take your money elsewhere.

As a previous reviewer witnessed and posted about, our son and his 5 friends visited this location after working out yesterday afternoon. My 14 year old son ordered (and paid) for his food and asked for a cup of water. The manager “Tay” informed him that they do not give out cups for water. Certainly confused, my son then asked if he could purchase a bottle of water, in which he was told “no, we are out of bottles of water”. He was forced to purchase a fountain soda (only to get water from the machine), when all he wanted was as a water with his meal.

After he informed us of the situation, we visited the location this evening to discuss with the manager, which she was there this evening as well. We were immediately confronted by the manager “Tay” and she stated “yes, we do not serve water to teenage boys.” She was very proud to admit that. The fact that another customer (previous reviewer) witnessed what happened, and tried to get cups for water for the boys, which were then taken from her by the manager “Tay” and thrown to the ground validates their experience.

On top of denying our son, a paying customer, a cup for water and also from purchasing a bottle of water. The way we were treated this evening was also completely unacceptable. After sharing our disappointment with the manager “Tay”, she proudly admitted the fact that she “does not give water cups to teenage boys”. Complete discrimination, which she was very proud of and openly admitted to. After expressing we would not be back, she started clapping and said, “great, don’t come back!”

As other reviewers have shared, this location is a complete disappointment and needs to do better. Such a poor example of customer service. The employees working there deserve better as well.

Chipotle, since when do you allow your locations to deny children water with a purchase? See the post below, my son (a paying customer) was denied a cup for water by the manager- I believe her name is Tay. The manager at this location said "all teenage boys steal their soda" so no teenage boys are allowed a cup for water. This is not right & horrendous customer service Chipotle. You are discriminating against teenage boys. Corporate office will be notified of this- see below reviews stating the same thing. My son also asked to purchase a bottle of water & was told they are out. So, he had to pay for a soda to get water. I'm thankful for the mom that overheard all of this & tried to step in & get the boy's water. The manager took the cups away from her once she realized she was helping 14yr old boys get water. My son has never stolen soda at a restaurant. When we went to the restaurant to ask the Manager about this situation, she openly acknowledged that she will not give teenage boys cups for water & that they steal. Craziest thing ever! When told her how disappointed we were in how this was handled & we would not be back she threw up her arms & started clapping saying "great! don't come back" Extreme lack of customer service & just scary that she is training these young people & teaching them life skills. I took my kids to this location today. Customer service was sub par. Couple of things that really missed the mark. My son who is 12 decided to order a kids chicken quesadilla. It should be called a toddler meal. The tortilla was a little bit bigger than a silver dollar and he got only one. They melted the cheese in it but left the crusty shredded chicken on the side. Since when does chipotle shred their chicken? Just be advised if you order a kids meal make sure they aren’t over the age of 3.

The rest of us had bowls. Two chicken, and one one steak. The shredded tablespoon worth of chicken, I may as well should have just ordered a vegetarian bowl. Prices high, and portions ridiculous for the price. I haven’t been to any chipotle in about a year and I won’t be back to this one. I hope this is just this location. It was just a...
