Maplewood Liquor — Local services in Maplewood

I've gotten to know both the owner and the employee very, very well. I agree with what others have stated that they are just misunderstood, because that's a fact. I mean "they" as w any human being....ugh.. People don't care to realize the stuff "they as owners/employees" have to deal with especially it being a liquor store, and the ONLY within walking distance for alot of people. With it being a liquor store, they do have to deal with a lot of addicts, alcoholics, and all types of INTERESTING people. Anyhow, they are pretty cool once you get to know them and they do treat the regulars very well. They like to joke alot, and it tends to look like it's sarcastic but it's really not. I had that first reaction when I met the owner for the first time I thought I hated that man(or that he had some issue w me) now that I come here every day still, they become very good friends and know my life story(exaggeration... well maybe) everyday🙄. ANY convenient/liquor store is going to be expensive so anybody that says that their food and all that other stuff except for alcohol is expensive? Than, well what do you expect? You knew that...

Needed to cash a check and went in due to multiple signs stating they could. Was told only manager could cash the check amd to come back tommorrow. Went in the next day, the cashier chuckled and stated "I said only manager could cash the check". He could not tell me when manager would actually be back. Waste of time and poor customer service

Update: roommate just went down there and came back with expired cookies and...

Love this place! I call it “the bodega” you can get snacks, drinks, a huge variety of liquor & beer, a plethora of smoking accessories, the kind of magazines you would find hidden under your dads bed if you were 13 year old boy, cat food, nag champa, cans of soda & you can even do a little gambling....
