I have been a satisfied customer of Norton’s Frame shop for over 20 years with many different items framed. The quality of their work is excellent and their prices are fair. The store has a great selection of high quality frames, but the main reason I go to Norton’s is for their advice in selecting the right materials between the frame and the artwork that enhance its visual appeal. Recommendations for silk or linen cloth backgrounds, French lines, gold fillets, and the perfect color for inside mats have made my artwork pop. Recently we had 3 large antique maps framed and matted by Norton’s in St. Louis. Mary and Doug designed a French mat, with inked lines of gold and black, a muted watercolour panel, and gold inset offsetting the double mat. The results are exquisite. During the pandemic we had had these same maps framed in Alabama where we now live. Though they were very professionally done, the wide monochromatic matting overwhelmed the maps. The Norton’s had framed for us years ago when we lived in St. Louis, so we decided to take these maps to them. The photos cannot really show how beautiful they are now; the matting enhances the maps—it is as lovely as they are. It was definitely worth the 1000 mile round trip from Alabama to St Louis...

Superior level framing with special attention to design and craftsmanship.

Mary Norton and her staff helped select the high quality framing materials along with color balance to highlight the series of silk screen prints that I brought in for framing. They also designed and formatted a most unique collage which designed to some a family treasure in a most unique manner by using this artifact as the centerpiece, and then, balanced this collage with a lithograph from the Internet along with a biographical note about the family member being highlighted.
