Big Bend Barber — Local services in Richmond Heights

Got his info from Reddit and went just before Mother's Day. Haircut itself was just okay (about Sport Clip levels). Very affordable for a cut at $20, though. I felt very rushed and as though there was no effort to know what type of cut I like (it's almost like he has a generic cut ready to go for newcomers). Wouldn't really say much barbering, though - no straight edging, no blending, just very basic electric razor cut. Asked him to avoid cutting bangs short, but he did anyways. Also, the entire time, he just talked to me about religion and seemingly was trying to make me feel bad for not being Christian which i think dampened the experience amd made me feel uncomfortable asking for anything. Overall, a not-so-welcoming environment, and I will not return. This one is a mid choice for LGBT or non-Christian folks imo, but it's good for a last minute weekend walk-in and cut. Dog was cute - waiting room chairs...

So, i came here by recommendation from another barber. The reason this gets 2 stars, is because randy seemed like a pretty good guy and personality is allot to me. When i visited this place, there was hair in piles on the floor and im a really clean person, so i didn't fancy that. However, when he finished my haircut i had long hairs all over my head (I have a buzz cut) and i asked him to fix it..he did...in that spot. Upon getting home, i seen that i had long hairs all over my head and i had to personally buzz my own head. So i paid 20 bucks to just eventually...

You know when you need a haircut on vacation and try to pick a barber hoping you won't walk out and have to start wearing a hat to cover the botched haircut? This shop was my pick and he did a great job. So have no worries coming here. I highly recommend this barber and would return regularly if I lived there. His dog is great and well trained and a fun addition to the shop. Good conversationalist. He free handed my flattop and it was precise. Excellent barber, can't say enough good things.
