PAID FOR A GENERATOR SEPTEMBER 2017 ...The store said that the receipt was all I needed to pick the generator up. When I went to pick up the generator it was expected to be there later that day or the following day because the trucks were delayed due to upcoming hurricane. I went back three times and still not in. At this point I was frustrated because I needed a generator or evacuate the state so I was going to just give my order to another customer when a manager came out and said that if I picked it up after the hurricane it was mine and the only thing I needed was my receipt. At that point I decided to keep the order and pick it up when I got back from the evacuation. I left immediately to Charlotte NC 09/08/2017 resting assured I would be fine when I went in to pick it up. I know it's been a long time since then and I was prepared to pay a stocking fee but that was not the case. I presented the owner with my receipt and he basically told me to pound sand. At first he said I'd have to talk to the previous owner , which was a lie ownership has never changed, then in his next breath he said I was lying and already picked it up and that there is nothing he would do. Very rude man he is. He said oh it's been too long and now I am out of luck. I'm not asking for my money back. I still need a generator. I was scammed by this business owner. I bought a Tankless Water Heater from this place but I got home to install it however I noticed my wiring wasn't really going to work with it. The Water Heater was on the wall but it was never connected to the electricity therefore I bought a different one somewhere else and decided to return this one. When I got to Ace Hardware I had to wait about 10 minutes for the Manager to be available for a return. When he did come out and he checked the unit he said the unit was burned without being used. This unit was never connected to the electricity yet he made this assumption and said he won't take it back event though it's been less than 12 days since I bought it. He was unprofessional and felt like he was accusing me without even actually testing the unit with electricity. He said not even Home Depot would take Water Heaters back. I had to eat $300 for a Water Heater that I won't even use because I already installed one. I walked in to buy screws for my plate, for my vehicle, because the ones I took off were too big. When I walked in, the gentleman at the counter asked me what I was looking for and called an associate to help me. The associate was so nice and knowledgeable that he found the correct size screws and put the plate on my vehicle for me. Oh my God, what exceptional customer service, and he advised me how to be safe with my plates. I went back to the store and continued shopping because I needed a few things for my house. I wanted to spend money there because the store deserved it for having professional and knowledgeable associates that assist people. I could have gone to another hardware store to purchase items at a lesser price but why not help this store when they helped me out. Everyone is professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
