Unfortunately, a picture is worth a thousand words. Messy fondant, uneven letters, uneven rhinestones, badly written "Mr & Mrs." and the cake itself was lopsided in appearance.

Our wedding was at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort, so this was not a little backyard shindig. This cake was supposed to be our unique wedding cake. It's a moment from our wedding day that we can never get back. Very disappointed.

If what we requested could not be done, we would have understood. We emailed to confirm our details and colors - to which there was no reply. We asked to receive a preview photo of the cutout letters to be sure it would like nice - no photos received. The night before the wedding before it is to be dropped off, we received a photo. At this point, we were in a bind.

In the midst of dealing with an unpresentable cake, we also received texts as if we weren't intending to pay the final payment. The rush was for....this? We had every intention of paying our invoice, despite the ugly cake. We provided the bakery with details on how to deliver, where to deliver and the hotel was fully aware that a cake would be dropped off. We were extremely organized, the last minute panic about the money would have been better spent on creating the cake we paid for.

A couple weeks later after the wedding and everything passed, we called to give feedback and received no level of concern. We didn't call irate or upset, we expressed that the taste was good but that it was not we envisioned, not even close to what we discussed. I attached the draft that was drawn by the owner compared to what we received. The letters were supposed to be blush, not even the colors were right.

Our moment, our money, our vision, our business was not valued, it was very disappointing. *Update: the nasty response from the owner is the kind of professionalism you can expect with dealing with her - none. Do not be fooled by IG pics like we were. What you pay for, you do not get. She tried to give a cake to a child INSTEAD of the Pelican staff as INSTRUCTED - their doing, not ours - why would y’all hand a cake to some child? She 1000% stands by a lopsided, plastic/non-edible crystal covered, messy fondant, wrong colored cake. Where’s the video of the perfect cake she supposedly made? How it’s pictured is EXACTLY how it was received. My evidence is...

The desserts are amazing here. Unfortunately, the customer always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It almost makes me not want to eat the food. It's the third time I've come here. Each time before I was hoping the service got better.......NOT! I walked inside today and the person didn't even say one word. Not a hello, hi, how are you?.....nothing. she actually herself and continued using her phone. I asked for my items, paid. Did not leave a tip, why should I after the service I received. She bagged the items, I took the bag and left. She looked at me as if I owed her money or something. The sad part is, I'm going to get a reply of this review saying they're gonna address the issue. The reality is...... not a damn thing will change. I want to refer people to this place but in good conscious I can't because of the service. I don't want backlash from my friends and family.

OH MY WORD! Our desserts were over the top DELICIOUS 😋 😍 😜 we are screaming & squealing with sheer delight!! The Banana Pudding Cake slice is an absolute MUST 💯, and the strawberry crumble cupcake 🧁 Woooowie!! Our minds were blown away by how much love you can literally taste baked up into these desserts!! The cakes were so juicy, soft, so flavor packed, and perfectly sweetened (not over powering sweet either but more of that "just right" sweetness). We are officially hooked and i am so happy this bakery is here to feed and delight south FL!! The ❤️ & pride that is going into these treats are unmatched.
