The Fair at Margate — Local services in Margate

As much as this is awful to say.... Margate fair felt like a HUGE letdown!! 🌭Food was OVERPRICED for the quality that was being delivered (maybe someone UTI could have enjoyed the food better than someone fully sober!) There was a place were we got 2 hot dogs (10 dlls each) and they were COLD!! My Husband told the lady...she reluctantly took them back and then she PUT THEM BACK ON THE GRILL (That to My knowledge is a huge NO when it comes to cross contamination!) She gave us 'new ones'.. and left the ones we had touched on the grill. (Pic #4-5 to the place were we got the hot dogs) 🙃 The drinks sold... Let's just say the following.. You are better off buying the lemonade from the 'LEMON' stand (it is like an actual lemon, forgot to take a pic!) Cause that is the only drink worthy of the price being asked for. Got an Elephant ear and also a corn dog at the stand that sells pizza (pics 2-4) and as shown on the pic.. they advertise the elephant ear as if you can add toppings for an extra dollar... When I requested for an extra topping.. they guy said NO, that is 'ONLY FOR THE FUNNEL CAKES'. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The corn dog was over-fried (highly oily and burnt, my kids did not ate it.. and I tried it just to see if they were probably mis-judging the looks of the food.. but it really was BAD!)

The bathrooms were highly smelly, they are portter potty's... So make sure you carry your own wipies/TP and such...cause I do not think they clean them often! (Also found a pair of green boxers outside the bathrooms, the ones that are next to the white ferris wheel, refer to first pic!)

Rides were 'ok'... Some rides where experiencing issues due to the rainy weather... Also I came across these ride called "sizzler" where they requested for the smaller rider to be at least 36 Inches tall to ride with an adult (my kid is taller) and the individual operating the ride did not allowed!!

On the other hand... We had the MOST FUN at the little Magic show and the Piggy Races! Kid's definetly Love those!!

I noticed some of the people operating the rides, seemed UTI (NOT sober) I looked for an 'office' around to mentioned, but no luck! These has got to be the MOST unorganized fair I have ever seen/been to! When we were heading out... There was cop cars parked outside flashing their lights... Yet, a car ran a red light 🙃 (I guess those incidents only happen in FL)

All In all, if You choose to go.. stay...

This place is amazing, expect whenever they hire staff that are as dumb as a doornail. The first time last year was amazing; however, this year in 2023, the staff here were completely different. When I attempted to come here with my gf, these women scanned my tickets at the parking not realizing that it would cause an issue with us coming in. When I asked, "Do I scan these to get in?" The three black ladies working were like, "Let me scan..." A few second later, "This doesn't cover parking; you need to pay $10 cash or Zelle". It was bad enough that I had to circle back and get $10 cash all because they wouldn't take debit card, then had to wait again; plus had to deal with some bigger moron at the check-in that couldn't scan/read my tickets properly. I paid for TWO tickets, and the dumb brown foreigner manager dude that was talking to me had the audacity to say, "Just so you know, there is police over there". I was NOT causing a scene, as witnessed by other people. This man couldn't do his job, as I was just trying to resolve the issue. Eventually, the other black lady at the counter (NOT INCLUDING THE THREE FROM PARKING) was nice enough to give us our other ticket without causing any other issues with her dumb manager. Next time, have a better checking system and HIRE PEOPLE THAT KNOW HOW TO ACT RIGHT HERE!!!!! This is America, and we deserve to be free without any further stupidity. Hire better people through Indeed next time, or continue the freak show all because of...

This place gets worse every year, besides the food being extremely overprice, its beyond gross. from 10+ watered down stale lemonade to 20 dollar Turkey legs. Sausages that are supposed to come with peppers and onions, come with one pepper and TONS of onions, guess which is cheaper? 6 or 8.75 dollars per ride if you don't buy the band, a lot of the rides are laughable, like the 20 second walk throughs of the two "fun houses". This is on top of your admission. The fair doesn't even have a legit webpage, it only sells tickets, no rules, restrictions what you can and cant bring. I know they have had issues here with crime, but its pretty clear when they say under 21 with an adult only, unless you are buying a band, money first right guys? If you are going to restrict peoples right to conceal carry, which other fairs don't, they let you check in with a firearm and your CCW permit, this one doesn't bother to post any signs at the entrance, or on their webpage warning you. The security here is a joke with short fences behind the rides and a teen who isn't really interested in properly wanding people for weapons. It would have been easy to get one in with the job he was doing, not a feeling a safety. Im not even sure his wand was on or working. They really need to step it up, proper metal detectors, and a policy to allow people who carry with a license to do so. Fire your vendors or contract another one with better prides and food are regular prices, this isn't...
