MUST READ I didn’t really want to make a review on this platform because, I’m still attending the school. But, since admissions ignore many students issues when it comes to our instructors, well..I had no choice! Many of these teachers I’ve noticed bring a lot of their issues to their workplace and if it’s not issues at home, they’ll get noticeably exasperated. I’ve encountered this one night time teacher. This Male instructor whos very profoundly rude and discombobulated. Not only did I speak with the director but many other students have. I’ve witnessed anger/depression in other students because of this instructor as well As admissions failing to help them with their situations. The only conversion I’ve scrutinize with this school is the name, color, inadequate instructors and helpless administrators. I remember when the director had introduced himself to us and told us “your teachers are going to have their days” meaning mood swings? Listen, no “professional” instructor should ever show that they’re upset or frustrated. I mean, if you graduated from a school that taught you professionalism then you should abide by it while in the workplace. Practice what you preach. Clients hardly come to this place anymore, which sucks because there’s students who’ll love to give services. Here’s one last problem, I haven’t miss any days so far and I pray I get through this program without any major problems at home that’ll cause me to do so. But I’m speaking for other students/friends who WANT to be there everyday and graduate on time with an 85% attendance rate but simply can’t because of their own personal issues. With that being said, the same instructors/administrators who’ve sat down w/ us and said “I understand, things like that happens.” Are the same ones who went back to meetings and agreed to having doors locked while rush hour in the city is still active. I understand if clients are getting services done, doors should be locked. I honestly believe these teachers did that out of spite, just because they wanted to hit the students where it hurts the most and of course for themselves which is them not liking to teach two students. Especially on Saturdays. Having a small class on certain days shouldn’t effect you teaching the people who WANT to come and learn. Stop harassing students with the same lines “Get to school or you’re going to fail” or “Saturday’s are very important” yessss just as important as the reason the student didn’t come that day. As long as you don’t miss two straight weeks and make up your hours when you can, even if it’s at the end of the time you were supposed to be out of there. This school is a BIG JOKE. I’m going to pray for the ones that are giving hard times at this place, and I’m not trying to be funny. This is peoples LIFE, MONEY & TIME they’re messing with. While the administrators and instructors are there to build their resume, reputation, getting an award for bribing students into the school & fulfilling their packets, at the end of the day, I’m doing this for me & my family. I want/need this career and I’m proud of myself for not letting anyone ruin this journey for me. If you’re currently attending or thinking about it. Make sure you’re doing it for yourself. Worst decision of my life. This school does not have good educational practices or good business practices. First I want to talk about the academics. The second week I was already giving massages the school never has taught me any types of body mechanics how not to injure myself when massaging. the professor only taught about anatomy and physiology. instead of teaching us about massages we are forced to go work in the clinic after 2 weeks on our own. I was promised tutoring sessions and there's tutoring sessions consisted of the professor giving me a packet and going to his desk while I was there To learn on my own. When students complain about the morale and the quality of Education the educational adviser said oh well program was approved by the Board of Education. I don't understand how program is approved for massage therapy when massage therapy is not even the main focus its anatomy and physiology? Second of all the school does not have good business practices I did my due diligence and asking them about the massage therapy career they informed me that there is jobs available in this career and I emphasize that I did not want to get student loans in which I can't pay back and they told me I would be fine this is such a great career they know people that make $500 etc etc. They failed to inform me when I was asking about the career that males have a difficult time in the massage therapy business. I asked them specifically is there anything I should know about the business before I go ahead and enroll they told me know they had let me know everything that I needed to know. Fast forward I've completed the program I got my license and I can't find stable work. I talked to the woman that handles placement and told her about my trials and tribulations and she said yeah she knows. So if you knew that this industry was biased towards male and when I asked specific questions you didn't feel that that was something I needed to know? The school is a disgrace to educational institutions and to people that want to better themselves in their lives. I did not get my money's worth in attending the school the school has been a complete waste of time for me and now I'm in debt and I'm not even working in the massage therapy field because of the lack of information before I even stepped into the classroom. This school is all about money and I regret wasting my time, effort and money. I wish I had known what I know now I would have NEVER signed up to attend this school! 🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽

I know I MUST leave a review after attending the morning cosmetology program of Hollywood Institute for almost a full 2 months !!! It was the most anxiety riddled experience. To add injury to insult ,they fired the admissions counselor that influenced me to go to the school in the first place !!! Within 3 weeks . Its HIGHSCHOOL all over again!

I should have left then . But no because of my passion & financial aid , I stayed ! That’s the problem though, they don’t want passionate, talented , dedicated cosmetologist, they want people that’s gonna be in their school for years opposed to the months each program is designed for ! I learned through the worst experience. It’s “clicked” up & the teachers condone the nonsense. I had no idea that Miguel was the “administrator” until he was hollering in my face “this is my place,I run this place”. And don’t even think about a CORPORATE when they are located in the building and they are located in the Hollywood location . They corroborate with one another & will NOT allow you into other locations if YOU decide to withdraw for any reason !!!! Not 1,not 2 but on 3 occasions I was verbally assaulted & almost physically harmed by 2 students. When trying to bring forth issues of the matter to Miguel , he told me he couldn’t speak to me ALONE without a female present in the room !!!! What can one assume from that ????? The unprofessionalism is guaranteed! The least to say , the issues were not brought forthright which led to my decision of withdrawing from this facility. I enrolled Jan 1 2019 & I withdrew Feb 14 2019. Within that time frame I was told I need to dim my personality down, I was threatened, singled out as “too much” by an instructor whom hasn’t even instructed me, overwhelmed with anxiety because I was told to complete my paperwork TWICE because someone “misplaced” them, & now I’m receiving some paperwork from FAFSA about repaying out the FULL student loan !!! How can that be when I hadn’t even attended this school for a complete 2 months ?!?!!?? I EVEN MET SOME WOMEN WHOSE BEEN ATTENDING THE SCHOOL FOR 2 years !!! Because THEY WILL ALLOW YOU TO ATTEND THE SCHOOL AS LONG AS FINANCIAL AID WILL CONTINUE TO PAY THEM !!! DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO CONVINCE YOU TO SPEND YOUR FEDERALLY FUNDED DOLLARS !!THEY DO NOT WANT PASSIONATE STYLISTS ! I’m currently seeking school elsewhere to continue education towards my LICENSE !!!!!
