Please save yourself the headache and do not order from this website! I ordered two of the Margot side tables to use as nightstands and they did not match the listing photo at all (see my photos to compare). They were so much darker in person and they did not match one another. The wood tones were noticeably different colors. I reached out to customer service with my concerns and they provided no help in getting the problem fixed. Instead John told me to stagger the nightstands by the window so they would look more like they matched. This doesn’t solve the problem and the pieces look terrible together. Avoid at all costs!!
Edited to include more details and updates during this terrible process:
I placed my order on 1/13. Per the policy on website at the time of order, “more oversized items, such as furniture, can take up to 5 business days to ship.” On 1/23, 8 business days after I placed my order, I reached out to inquire why my order hadn’t shipped. Then, I was told my order wouldn’t ship until 1/27 (10 business days after my order was placed). Sneakily, this policy has been changed since my complaint to 10 days, but I have a screenshot of the policy with a time stamp of 1/23 which is provided for you with this review. Hopefully this paints a picture of the type of business owners you will have to deal with when you order from this company.
The day the nightstands arrived, I reached out to customer service immediately per their policy. I stated that the “tables are two totally different wood tones” and “I was anticipating them both being the lighter color as the website depicted.”
John replied and provided no help addressing the apparent color discrepancy from the website or the mismatched nightstands. He said “I recommend placing the slightly darker table on the window side of the bed where it can benefit from more natural light. This will help balance the overall appearance of the set in your room.”
I expressed my disappointment and posted reviews to warn customers about my experience. This seemed to get the company’s attention and started a long back and forth email chain.
Regarding the apparent color discrepancy from the online photo to the actual product I received, John said “Unfortunately, the darker color is what people want—perhaps not you, but the majority. As you put it, this “headache” could have been easily avoided with a little due diligence. All you had to do was ask before purchasing, and you didn’t, which you probably should have if the item’s color is so paramount to you.” He also said that “no one cares because it invariably happens. Maybe they want the darker color, or they know to ask beforehand.”
When I asked why there wasn’t any type of quality control in place to ensure two identical items from the same order would match, John said “it would be impractical to open and inspect every box to match the color of every shipment.”
After an enormous amount of time wasted, I was finally offered a refund. They said “we will have both nightstands picked up the next time one of our partners is in your area, which, as far as I know today, will be February 19 or 20, 2025, and issue a full refund.” Great you would think, but based on the email communications up to this point, I had a feeling they would not be true to their word.
Unfortunately, at this point in time, I shipped back the nightstands, but I was not given my full refund. John and Shuzhen have refused to provide the full refund despite saying in email that they were going to give me “a full refund, including covering the cost of return shipping.”
Additionally, here are some of the threats and language one of the business owners, John, used during his email communications that further exemplify why I do not recommend shopping here.
“I hope that you, as a human, can abandon your finite mindset as you mature.”
“Let’s be clear here. I don’t have to answer any of your questions or respond to any of your emails.”
“I will end all of this...
Read moreHad an awful experience dealing with this seller. Ended up getting my money back through my credit card but after multiple delays, awful communication and a surprise $500+ shipping fee (that was never communicated upfront) - I ended up waiting 4 months for something I had to cancel.
Would stay far away from Home & Kids unless you want to have your money withheld and be threatened by the business owner.
I’m all for supporting a small, family run business but this couple really does not seem to follow proper business processes. They also constantly make very unprofessional comments/accusations and make running their business their customers fault. Join their Facebook group and you will see consistent significant delays with excuses and you can also see more evidence of them bashing customers (seems to be one of their favorite pastimes.)
See the response below calling me a “liar” - that should be evidence enough not to do business with someone so unprofessional. When they post that on a public forum, imagine what happens via email in direct...

Shuzhen is the real deal and her furniture design/manufacturing/import business is providing high-end, quality furniture at realistic prices to customers throughout the US and right here in GA. She's just lovely and her stuff is GORGEOUS! They even do custom orders. I was so impressed with Shuzen's courage for starting this business and look forward to supporting her with my furniture needs and my client's furniture needs...
