Let me start off by saying this visit will be my last visit to a Piccadilly Cafeteria. I let my husband pick where he wanted to go for dinner, and we'll.....I wish I hadn't. Also, let me say that I believe Piccadilly should just close their doors because it's a huge NO!! Let us take a leap back to the mid to late 70's when I was between 10 & 15. My parents would load my brother and I into the car, and we would go to Piccadilly for dinner. Now, back then, the decor was considered modern and new, and the food... good. Now let's jump ahead some 45 years, and when we walked in, it felt like 1975. The same long walk down to the service line, the same trays, and the bars where you slide your tray is being held together by tape. The same boring food and omg, the same boring decor. I'm talking, same color, same carpeting, same booths, same tables. The carpet was old and stained, the decor is old and even the music playing was from the 70's. If you decide to go, please don't look up because the ceiling tiles were cracked and stained and in need of a changing a long time ago. But what set me back the most was the air conditioning vent. There was what looked like black mold around the edge of the vent, and as someone with asthma, it really bothered me to see it (I have a picture). Now this place is huge and there were only 9 customers in there eating at 5:30 dinnertime. The tables are outdated, and so are the booths. The booths look like they are falling apart and leaning very badly. They even have the area where you would go and pay at the exit, of course, it hasn't been used in years. Now on to the food, I had something called Chuck Wagon Stew, which was ok but had little flavor, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a roll. The potatoes were good, and so was the roll, but the broccoli was way overdone and like mush, and when you put it in your mouth, it just felt and tasted nasty. I also had a piece of sweet potato pie, and it didn't even taste like sweet potato pie. My husband had the large hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, mac n cheese, and a roll. He took 2 or 3 bites of the hamburger steak and pushed it away and only ate his potatoes, mac n cheese, and roll. He took home his piece of red velvet cake, and he still hasnt eaten it. There was only one waiter for the whole restaurant but he was ok because there was hardly anyone there. Now my husband and I both had an entree, 2 vegetables a roll, a drink and a piece of pie and our total was $41.45 (not including tip). While we were sitting there talking, we were discussing other places we could have gone for dinner that would have cost us less. Some places were Golden Coral, Longhorns, Olive Garden, and several others, and we would have had great food. This restaurant needs help a lot of help, and it's quite evident that neither the owners nor the management care about the facility due to the way it is so run down. Picture are attached...
Read moreI've grown up eating Piccadilly, especially when the location off South Cobb Drive was still open. As most have mentioned it's very expensive. My issue is that recently, since November of 2024 the quality of food has not been per usual. I absolutely love the carrot souffle and there's no reason it should ever taste "off", but 2 out of the last 5 visits,it has. Today I was excited to drive 30 minutes for the turkey and dressing (only served on Sunday) but they were out, didn't receive any for the day. Same applied to the carrot souffle which I was going to get a double side of* So,the gentleman who stated he's a cook and was just helping with the line said they'd have it tomorrow for me. I will say I have zero problem with the staff. Never have, I appreciate them very much and recognize that these things are out of their control. So maybe the owner is who reads these? But my last issue is I ended up getting other items which was $16, no drink*.so I for other reasons as well cannot just come again tomorrow. I wait until Sunday because that's the one day they serve Turkey and dressing and so I'm an unhappy individual so thought I'd say so. What else can I do. Just one out of 2 would have been better but this is just a...
Read moreI want to share an incident we discovered after eating here. My father in law had went to the ATM to withdraw some cash and noticed quit a bit of money was missing from his account. It wasnt just a few dollars. It was a dent taken. The last transaction made before the ATM was a paypal transaction with someones name attached to it. Before the paypal transaction was Piccadilly, we had eaten there on Monday Memorial Day. The paypal transaction happened the following Wednesday. Beware of your money after eating here. He was able to stop the transaction and get his money back, but definitely watch out.
Definitely good when you are sick of eating burgers or pizza. I have only eaten there 2 times. Those 2 times were this past week with my in-laws. The sirloin/hamburger steak and gravy is really good. A friend of mine has been going to Piccadilly since she was little and her favorite is the roast beef. It is a cafeteria, so they people who work there serves you want you want. My only complaint would be the amount of dishes you go to your table with. Everything has its own dish. I guess it shouldn't matter to me since I'm not the one washing them. Iv only had the hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and gravy and...
