Edit to update poor experience- always loved this storeâs self-wash stations and left reviews in the past. I buy treats and food each visit and appreciate the convenience of being able to bring my own supplies to accommodate my older dogâs skin and ear sensitivities. Unfortunately, my recent visit was disappointing enough that I left without using the service. I brought my usual itemsâDawn (for his ears), a Furminator shampoo, dog toothpaste, and my own towels. A staff member asked to see my bag, which I had no issue withâI understand the need to prevent theft. However, after seeing the Dawn, I was told I couldnât use my supplies, with the clerk stating that dogs washed with Dawn have fleas. Ive not had this barrier before, the assumption and tone made me feel embarrassed and confused, especially since my dog is on monthly preventatives (heâd been treated two days prior I explained). The clerk started going through display items to show or offer me while talking about fleas. Unfortunately, the interaction was poor, and I chose to take my business elsewhere. The staff wasnât rude, but the experience was discouraging.
Past 5 star review from last year: I've been going to this pet store for several years, primarily for dog self-wash, and it's set itself apart from the rest. Having explored numerous self-wash options for my dog, who is of a unique build with a long body and short legs, it's challenging to find a comfortable bathing solution that caters to his needs, especially as he's gotten older. The metal bathing stations with narrow steps made bath time a challenge for us. This changed when we discovered this pet store, which features stone stairs leading up to each bathing station, with the basins themselves also stone. This thoughtful design made all the difference for my dog, making it easier for him to access the baths and feel stable despite his physical limitations. He's back to being excited about bath time, a testament to how comfortable and accommodating these facilities are. What stands out, aside from the pet-friendly infrastructure, is the overall experience. Bringing my own soap/products is never an issue, and I've never felt rushed or had trouble accessing a station, even during busier times. The ease of use with the nozzle's on/off switch is a small but significant detail, allowing for a smooth bathing process for body and sensitive ears. Checkout is always swift,...
Read moreUpdate 11-8-2020 I have watched this store go through DOZENS of staff changes. From problems with professionalism while working to staff not working at all. I have had great experiences and VERY poor ones. I typically shop here once a week and spend about $80 each time over the last 2 years. Today's visit was RIDICULOUS! Myself and another customer waited for the doors to be unlocked this morning. Then when trying to use the dog wash its covered in hair, the mats for the dogs to sit on are balled up behind the towels bin and filthy. I spray down a station, and start washing my dog. I went to grab a towel because there we no aprons AGAIN for customers to protect their cloths, and no towels are there. I asked an associate and he said he would check but returned saying no towels were clean. He advised he would have to wash towels but before he could start got side tracked and started showing kittens for adoption. I left my wet dog there walked around to find "the manager " and was told she would have to prepare towels.
I washed both my dogs and the manager stopped by to tell me she was confirming I wasn't finished because she was washing towels. I stated I didn't think they would be ready by the time I finished. After washing both dogs and slipping on the soaked floor I was beyond upset. They had pink extreme odor shampoo in the sensitive oatmeal bottle so I had to use my own shampoo on top of everything.
I was so annoyed, wet and dirty I walked up to the register and asked her to meet me. I hoped she would have tried to make it right but instead changed me full price. I set $20 on the counter and when she asked if I had an account with them I replied give my credit to whoever account you want. She started to say sorry but by this time I told her she missed the point and to me it was too late to apologize. As I walked out I thought of canceling my membership and writing this review.
It doesn't make me feel any better to write a bad review and it certainly doesn't change my experience. Most days I wish the staff from years ago was still there đ ....
Sad to say but Amazon is quickly becoming my new preferred pet store and I may start driving the extra 10 miles for a Petsmart self dog wash.

Read moreI purchased two ferrets from The Pet Supermarket in Marietta Georgia for my 16 year old daughter. As it turned out my daughter was allergic to the ferrets. We were both heartbroken but the ferrets needed to be returned. I checked the return policy for the store, itâs written clearly on the back of the receipts. Small pets can be returned within a 30 day period and we were well within the 30 day period . The staff were very nice, but much to my surprise they seemed unfamiliar with the return policy. After pointing out the return policy, one of the store employees called the store manager who advised me over the phone that the ferrets couldnât be returned. Again I empathized the return policy, but to no satisfaction. I ended up leaving the ferrets at the store and decided to file a dispute with my American Express credit card company. At this point Iâm only days into the dispute and in the process of submitting the receipts and supporting documentation relating to the stores return policy. I would warn anyone who shops at the Marietta Pet Supermarket location, to be aware that this store doesnât honor its own return policy. Itâs extremely sad that in this day and age a reputable business wouldnât stand by its own return policy. I feel very strongly about this matter and will also be filing a complaint with the BBB and filing a claim in small claims court for the total value of the...
