Daddy's Barn Pickins — Local services in Marion

My family and I traveled over an hour to purchase a dresser from this store that was put on Facebook marketplace. Seller/store owner offered to meet me at her store on a day that it was closed after I offered to drive over during her business hours. I thought that was nice due to living over an hour away and it would have been more inconvenient to do that on a week day but I was willing.

We agreed to meet at 1pm and at 12:11pm I received a vague message that she couldn’t get there until 3pm and she was sorry. We own two SUVs due to having small kids and had to travel even further out of our way to grab my mom’s truck to haul the dresser. Not only were we traveling over an hour we now had to wait in Marion for multiple hours for an unknown reason. Annoying, but we made the best of it and did some shopping in town.

We weren’t greeted once we got to the store and there was another couple outside that was and helped right away. I had to ask where the dresser was after standing there for a few minutes being ignored. The seller pointed out a dresser once I asked but it wasn’t the dresser I was supposed to be looking at and picking up. I brought this to their attention and she halfheartedly apologized then told me she would sell this other dresser to us for cheaper. The dresser that was in store was nothing like the dresser I was supposed to be purchasing so we passed.

The owner offered to pay for our gas and we politely declined. This whole situation was avoidable...
