I want to give a special shout-out to Chris, an associate at Target in Marion, IL. This store is always immaculate and well-stocked, with a good selection of reasonably priced items. Once I finished shopping, I was privileged to be in the checkout line to witness Target employee Chris interacting with the customers ahead of me. He was so professional and friendly, handling each person as if he knew them, issuing a warm smile with every interaction. I saw other Target associates come to him asking when to take their breaks or how to handle a particular issue. Chris quickly answered them without losing track of the task or customer in front of him. When it was my turn in line, I asked him how long he had been in management because he looked so young. To my surprise, he told me that he was not a manager. I wish more people with customer service jobs took the time to engage with those around them, as Chris at Target in Marion, IL, does. If you value excellent customer service, a wide selection of products, and value for your money, see Chris and the folks at Target. When you go by, tell them Kindra...
Read moreI have been visiting this store for years with my Asian wife and son. I have never seen nor heard of racial profiling within the confines of my family or international friends. My young mixed son often calls this his favorite "red store". I have upon multiple occasions been pleasantly surprised with the quick rapport my wife has been able to achieve with multiple workers, even with her notable accent. The only occasional issues we have noticed with possible discrimination comes from the shopping public itself and was not explicitly racist but generally antisocial. It is troubling that one experience yielding no concrete example of discrimination can be overgeneralized into racism against "African-Americans, Asians and Hispanics". How would you KNOW this with one short trip if you are "white"? If you want to detract from racism, disconnect yourself from overgeneralization!
To agree with another review, most family members and friends, regardless of ethnic identification, agree that the Starbucks coffee was...
Read moreRACIAL PROFILING * at its finest. Very sad to see here. We're from out of town and came to this particular Target only to witness how the employees here look at others that are not white, like myself. African-Americans, Asians, Hispanics are treated with such disrespect at this Target location. We would see how they would get followed around so much, that they wouldn't even have time to answer any questions from white people. It's pathetic and disappointing. Whatever management in charge of this location, I'm sure are a huge part of the problem. And I'm sure whomever in charge of "theft security" are an even bigger part of the problem. They are RACISTS and profile whomever walks through those doors that are not white. Anyone local or from out of town, should beware and STAY CLEAR, unless you want to be harassed and followed around. We will continue to shop at Target, but we will NEVER step foot in the Marion, IL branch again. RACISM is DISGUSTING. Shame...
