Please keep in mind when reading this review and looking at the star rating of this and other reviews, that I am a white male married to an Asian female and we cook authentic Asian cuisine quite frequently.
Upon arriving at the restaurant my wife and I were promptly greeted, shown to a booth, and was presented with one of the better bowls of vegetable soup I've had in quite some time. Unfortunately the minty gum stuck to the bottom of the saucer made this part of the experience less than perfect.
My wife had ordered the sweet and sour pork. Although it tasted alright, it was a little soupy for her taste and the rice was on the same plate soaking up the sauce. Most people wouldn't have much of a problem with this but my Asian wife, and most other Asians I know, don't like for their rice to get soggy from the sauce. The fix for the this would be to bring the rice in a separate dish.
I ordered the cashew pork. The sauce was a little soupy but not near as much add my wife's. For me, being a white guy, the rice beiing on the same plate wasn't as big a deal.
I was looking over the receipt before paying and saw that it said "Jasmine Rice." Again, my wife is Asian and jasmine rice is all we make, for every meal, (even breakfast) and I can assure you that what we were served was not jasmine rice. It was most likely plain white rice as jasmine rice has a little different aroma and is mildly sticky. I'm guessing that since there is a very small asian population in the area, the rice would most likely go unnoticed.
We have no complaints about the service as our waitress was most always near by to get drink refills and the extra side of rice we ordered.
We would most likely eat there again and the experience may be a little better now that we know...

We had our usual Thai favorites, not feeling like trying anything new. Potstickers to start, red curry for my boyfriend, and pad see ew for me! And of course a Thai tea to drink. :)
We got the meat-filled potstickers, but a vegetarian option is available. For the price, I felt the portion size could have been a bit larger - only four potstickers were served. We also definitely needed more soy dipping sauce. This sauce had green onions on top, which was an interesting addition. Overall, the flavor was pretty good, but it was lacking a bit of crispness in the thicker parts of the potstickers.
My Thai tea had a slightly more floral note to it than other versions I've had; I don't prefer it that way, but I still enjoyed my drink and liked the switch-up from the norm.
The red curry portion was HUGE. More than my boyfriend could handle on his own, and he can throw down. He enjoyed it, though - and they're not playing with the heat! Take note if you're a heat weenie; even my level 4 (out of 10) pad see ew had me clearing my throat and sniffling a bit!
My meal was tasty, with a very large portion also; the flavors were about what I'd expect from a solid rendition of the dish. My chicken was a touch dry, but that's my only complaint.
Overall, Thai-D is a yummy stop for...
Read moreWent for a date with my wife tonight. Everyone was wearing masks. Patrons were socially distanced. We had Kirstan as a server. She was very polite, super efficient, and lightning fast! We never had to ask for anything. She is a wonderful server. Very great at her job. We got the fried calamari appetizer. Yall! That calamari is cooked perfectly. The thai chili sauce that it comes with is absolutely wonderful. My wife got the pad kee mao spice level 7. She loves heat. She said it was great! I will say it was a bit too spicy for me. However, hotness aside it was amazing. The portions were humongous. We had so much left over to bring home. I had the pad pak spice level 4 let me tell yall. You dont wanna go any spicier with this dish or you'll miss out on all the herbal flavors in the broth. I was absolutely pleased with my dish. It came with rice. The perfect amount to mix in to soak some of the juices. Before I could even ask for to go boxes Kirstan had already noticed our belly's were filling and offered the boxes and the check. The other servers were lightening quick on their feet as well. They are all so good at their jobs. Very nice. I cant tell you how many curbside orders I saw them take out the door. 20/10 recommend. Here is the thai tea I ordered, it is sooooo pretty. In comparison to american tea their thai tea us heavier. It's a cream...
