I don't know if this review actually gets to anybody at savers but I'd like to have my opinion heard. I go into savers to look for things that normally would be too high priced to buy at regular stores. I see a lot of good stuff donated and abused by the customers. I also see stupid things like remote control cars with remote controls that are separately priced without the car. I see bags of Hot Wheels and diecast cars that have between four and six cars in them and they charge $4.49 for each bag. The problem is some of those cars are only worth about a dime.. I also see a lot of damaged goods that did not enter the store damaged and they got damaged by customers children playing with them. I asked savers as a consumer this question. What's the point of having people donate to your facility if children are allowed to dismantle toys and break them and employees are allowed to charge ridiculous prices for things that don't even equal that type of value. Bottom line to me is I think savers does a terrible job at monitoring their toy department and their toy donations, a lot of those toy donations could benefit children in shelters and children that are less fortunate and savers just lets kids break them on their shelves and play with them, and parents don't care they're off looking through clothes and the kids are destroying the donations that are sent there and I think it's an atrocity..The toy department it's probably one of the most lucrative sections of the store and why they would allow people to let their kids destroy those donations is beyond me and I think the store in Framingham Mass is the worst offender of this problem.. I go every couple days and I see what goes on the shelves and I come back a couple days later and the toy that was looking really nice that and somebody could have used for their kid now has broken wheels and the remote control is gone and you guys really suck at keeping good track of your toys so they can make money.. I'd like to know how many toys you throw away every week because kids have destroyed them on the shelves you should be ashamed of yourselves at savers. Google won't let me give zero review stars but if I could I would give...
Read moreI really don’t like to be this kind of person, but my main complaint is that half the things I buy (I mainly look for cool old electronics. Record players, radios, stereo receivers, tvs, ect.) but half the time that I buy them, they don’t work. Okay so they have 3 flimsy outlets where you can try it out.. fair enough. I’m not going to blame the employees. This is mostly an upper management production kind of question, but may I ask why they couldn’t just do that before they put it out on the floor? I swear every tv I plugged in had a broken screen. Seems like all that broken stuff takes a lot of space, too. Okay and my one other issue is that while I know there may be a problem with people changing around price stickers and I know they have a color system on each sticker that usually helps them determine what price should be on which item, but if every time I bring some thing up to the self check out and they tell me oh wait that’s not the right price and they come back with a sticker on it making it $10-$15 more, well, then, why was that the price on it when I found it? I understand that some people may do that, but they’ve seriously told me multiple times when I’ve gotten to the register that the price on my item is not the correct price and their attitude about it makes me think that they’re almost trying to accuse me of being the one that changed the price. So I’m sorry, but that’s a little offensive to me. I’m just coming into the store looking around at some cool things may be trying to pick up a thing or two, pay for them and leave. And it seems like they’re trying to jack the prices on things that end up being broken when I get home anyway. I’m sorry but I really can’t recommend the savers. I’ve had this incident happened multiple times and I can’t say that the employees are very nice...
Read moreIf you went here to donate and had one experience then went to the Framingham location to donate, you would be surprised they are the same business. Typically, I go to the other location which has made me jump through so many hoops, I really would rather light a match than donate.
This location helped me place my car in just the right spot to be moving around the car. The other location did not give this level of instruction.
This location was THERE (lol) this sounds weird. I have donated to the Framingham location 4 times and whomever is working there has abandoned their post. I have to go into the store to find someone who works there and even then once I had to stand in line with customers to speak to the only available employee.
This person was available! OK, so the Framingham location has - on more than one occasion - tried to play it like I can't donate, after I already spoke to someone on the phone prior to the drive out who said I could. At that place and time...
This person made quick work of my donation materials! They gave just enough instruction about sorting books / clothing / shoes / electronics ... they took everything and I really was expecting to have to find solutions for some oddball items but the guy had a category for everything. In Framingham, they tell you "we don't take that".
The guy working the donation at this Savers really loved his job! He even put on my kid's old light up sequin hat I was donating and said "now I have a new hat". "Yes, you do, sir. Yes, you do. Also, I think that needs batteries."
Having the history with Savers that I do, I was mentally ready for a horrible experience. I had no idea this could be so pleasant! What Framingham location? Marlborough Savers is my new go-to solution for finding a...
