If you value your money and time stay FAR AWAY!! This is a bait and switch company. They kept my $2,742.75 for 2.5 months!!!
8/10/2023 - I ordered a Garlando World Champ foosball table for $2,742.75 USD.
8/15/2023 – Recreation Outfitters emailed that my table has shipped. Estimated delivery date 8/24/2023.
8/24/2023 – Foosball table never arrived. HOWEVER, the tracking info said delivered.
8/25/2023 – I called Recreation Outfitters on the phone. Raj said the order did ship but will contact the shipping company.
8/25/2023 – Raj emailed saying the warehouse originally said my foosball table was in stock but actually it was out of stock. He offered to sell me a different table. I declined that offer and asked for a full refund. Raj never responded to that.
8/28/2023 – Recreation Outfitters finally got back to me and said “We have submitted a cancellation request to the distribution team for your order. The standard process will take 24-48 hours. “
8/31/2023 – Still no refund so I contacted them again. "Mary" tried again to sell me a different foosball table. I repeated no. Give me a Full Refund.
8/31/2023 – I disputed the $2,742.75 charge to my credit card. At this point it has been 3 weeks. They had my money, they took it at checkout, and now seemed to be playing games not wanting to give it back.
9/1/203 – My credit card company (Citibank) tried to contact Recreation Outfitters about my dispute. By law Recreation Outfitters had 6 weeks to respond.
9/1/2023 – I received this response from Mary “We, as Recreation Outfitters, are required to follow the instructions and guidelines set by the bank and the payment processor. This means that we will not take any additional actions related to the transaction in question until the chargeback process has been completed.
10/24/2023 – Recreation never responded to Citibank. I was issued a full refund for the $2,742.75.
In my opinion, this is definition bait and switch. Borderline attempted theft. If this was an honest out of stock mistake, all Recreation had to do was issue my refund. Instead they tried repeatedly to sell me another product. Then they ignored Citibank and milked time. 2.5 months they tied up my $2,742.
Lesson: Just buy from Amazon. If problems like this arise, Amazon can step in and make things right.
TMI: Ended up ordering a $2,995 Tornado T3000 from Amazon. That arrived damaged. A bent rod and a scraped side. After a week of talking to the supplier about return and replace. He told me to just keep it and then gave my a full refund for $3,196 (after tax). Yes really!! All said and done this ended up freaking awesome. Got a Tornado T3000 for free. Needed new bar for $75 and put a piece of duct tape...
Read moreim having a terrible experience. i ordered some outdoor furniture and on their website it didnt say what i was ordering was low in stock or out of stock, in fact it said that it would be delivered in a couple days. Well i ordered it and they charged my card and then i never heard anything so i emailed them and they replied with that it was out of stock and i could expect my item in mid-July. (it is may 10th today) i never would have ordered it if i had known it was out of stock. i ordered for a party happening at my house in a couple weeks. i then replied to the e-mail stating i would like a refund and to cancel my order. i didnt get a response and i then sent another e-mail asking for a response about my requested credit and i still have not heard anything! UPDATE!!! I FINALLY received my items and everything we've opened so far is damaged. I've been emailing the company and I am getting zero response. I am beyond frustrated. I deserve a full refund. I uploaded pictures for reference. UPDATE AGAIN! i paid $1600.00 for this patio furniture and now they want to send me a replacement table (which i do appreciate) but they want to send me touch up paint for the chairs. i think paying that much for the set i should get new chairs. they are all dented and damaged. at this point i wish theyd just come get the whole set and give me a refund. i absolutely will never order from here again and i would be careful ordering from here...
Read moreI purchased a Blaze Grill from Recreation Outfitters for my boat in March 2022. It never worked. I have been in communication with customer service at Blaze Grill since July 2022 and customer service at Recreation Outfitters since October of 2022. Neither Recreation Outfitters nor Blaze Grill will stand behind the product sold to me. Tim at Recreation Outfitters says he apologizes for the company profusely and that Recreation Outfitters does not normally operate this way. (Apparently they do.) Kailey Hixson at at Blaze Grill says they would authorize a refund. (However, they have not). This is my first time providing poor feedback to a company online. I have worked in good faith with both companies to try and resolve this. I only ask for a working grill or a refund. Apparently, that is too much to ask.
Upon providing this review, I was contacted by Raj who said he was the head of the customer service department. He apologized and then said he would provide a refund. He said that I would not have to keep contact them again, and that he would personally see to it that I was taken care of. He called a couple of times with updates... then never called back. I can only hope that others see my review and consider buying from one of the many other reputable companies out there. I would not want them to get take advantage of like...
