My husband and I decided to try Pho for the first time and had a horrible experience. Upon walking in, we we're two of only four people there. We picked a table near the front and we're immediately asked to move because it was the only "big" table they had (seated 6, while the others seated 4). We felt the man behind the cash register had been rude in telling us to move from behind the counter so loudly (since it was a slow night and only two other people came in during our stay)...never the less we decided to give it a try... The menu was clear and straightforward except for one thing, NOWHERE on the menu did it state that each dish came with a handful of cilantro on top. Unfortunately I have a moderate allergy to it....which is where it got ugly... When I received my soup, I saw and was able to smell the Cilantro and immediately apologized....stating that it wasn't listed on the menu and I wouldn't have ordered it had I known. He responded by sighing and told me to just scoop it off the top....when I told him the little pieces throughout the soup would still make me sick, he rolled his eyes and said "fine I'll drain the broth" and disappeared. When he brought it back, there was still quite a bit of cilantro in it, and not wanting to be Ill, I stopped another gentleman in the store and explained to him that I had an allergy and that consuming anything would result in rashes and medication and absolutely NO FUN....I told him how sorry I was, that I would pay for a new bowl and that I hated to waste their time, but it wasn't on their menu. He said that Cilantro was listed, at which point my husband dug through it and found it nowhere...we asked him to show us where it was...he couldn't find it either..at which point he said he would have another bowl made. The first man was waiting just inside the back hallway and was loudly complaining in another language.....a woman also came out and glared at us...I apologized to her and she rolled her eyes and walked away. Even after all this, I felt bad and left a tip to cover the first bowl...but could not believe how we were treated... So long story short, if you want to be treated like s#&t this is the place for you....but we will NEVER return and make sure our friends and family know what to...
Read moreMe and my family of 4 went to eat here. It was steady with six parties of 2, one party of 4 (us) one party (6). 4 of the 2 tops had their meals already, along with the party of 6 had theirs. There was main server working her tail off and two other servers that popped out 2 the entire 55 mins we were there. Well we ordered 2 orders of gyoza 3 bowls of pho 1 med and 2 small and one order of chicken and broccoli. 10 mins after order placed the 3 bowls arrived, 5 after came the gyoza. A total of 25 mins after order placed still waiting on chicken. At that point was when I went to check on my food and received and the server I asked just happen to almost be off the clock, so Im unsure if she went to check on it. So I waited another 5 mins until what i believe may have been the owner Stalky bald man on his iphone on speaker talking about his wife divorcing him and has moved out. Loud enough that I could here that being 3 tables away (on the right when you walk in) from the register. So I asked him, now mind you 2 or the 3 family members are done eating their pho now at about 35 mins. He goes in back to find that my food was sitting back there. Hiw could I tell? The oil from the chicken was saturated in it at the bottom of the plate. And yes that means it was given to me in that condition. I after being given that and saw my face about how a cook with any pride in what he does let's a plate leave his kitchen like that. So it was taken back again and 15 mins later (which was about right for probably the remake time) he says it's done so I just tell him to box it up because the last member of my family was done eating at this 50 min mark. This was only the worse part of the issues we encountered on our 3rd trip here since Kenny (the old owner of The Best of Pho) sold it to the present business Happy Pho. The first 2 trips werent bad per se since it seemed they were still trying to staff up and adjust changes, ect. I could list more issues (small but add up with how many happened) that are just minor things that may seem like I was nitpicking. So I'll leave just the bad part as my review. Never again will I...
Read moreBeen coming to this place even before the new owner took over. Came the other day with our family wait in the door to be seated for a good 10-15mins even there's table available. The floor was so dirty and 3-4 tables still need to be clean. 2 ladies are working at the time but slammed by orders , maybe they both look very unwelcoming and unhappy, we finally had the table just been wipe down by One lady came along with cart full of dirty dishes, drop the glass or empty water next to the customer's behind us and pick it up, went to the table next to us that has a tray with glasses of water gave us 3 glass , mind you she grab all dirty dishes in our table, wipe down with dirty towel and spray , drop a dirty glass in the floor , pick it up continue to grab us a pick up a (Glass of Fresh Water) in the table next to us. My husband told me not to drink the water, I decided to ask the lady just come next to me so I ask nicely if we can replace the water. She was somewhat unwilling to listen and when she does she responded to me. (I can assure you that's the same water you'll get even I'll replaced it! ) I responded , it's just you never replace a gloves even you touch all over things, she then mutter something behind my ear in her native language which I did not understand and walk-away with angry expression on me. We came as happy family just wanted to have dinner. My husband and my son didn't feel like we can trust to eat any food from this place anymore, then we stand up and get out of this place. HAPPY PHO IN MARYSVILLE. Lost our business. We came happy left walk-out very unhappy with this experience. Never...
