We purchased a couch from Kimo's , delivered Feb 21, 2021. After about 9 months, we noticed thin, little, fuzzy strings coming out of the fabric all over. I can wipe them off daily, but they reappear after someone sits down. After a few months of hoping they disappeared, I went back to Kimos to ask them what was going on (February 2022). Richard even came and looked and picked up a cushion because he had no idea why that was happening. Three weeks later I called Kimos to find out what was going on as I had not had a return call. It was explained to me that the manufacturing plant told him dacron from under the fabric was escaping through and a few pieces probably got squeezed in during the process of putting it together. I explained that more and more appear and I was told that it's because we chose a darker fabric and this will occur with all their couches. I do not know the proper remedy for this situation, but I do feel that we certainly should not have paid over 5 grand for a couch that has little strings coming out all over it. If nothing else, I would like others to be aware that this is what they claim happens with all of their couches, but you can only see it on darker materials. I wish we were told this prior to purchasing, but they were unaware at the time. The final remedy from Kimos was a free microfiber cloth and bottle of spray cloth stain remover to just keep wiping off the couch when the fuzzy pieces (dacron) come out. The positive from this is that the owners were kind about the situation, but I am still left with a couch with fuzzy pieces all over it or needing to wipe them/pull them...

Bought a huge American made sectional from them 5yrs ago and to this day, it’s STILL going strong. These sofas are not your typical China made pieces of junk that you’d get from other furniture stores here on Maui that will only last about a month till you will have to purchase another sofa.

We refurnished the entire place with very tasteful furniture from Kimo's at a very reasonable price. They were VERY helpful in suggesting tasteful choices for us. Everything was delivered on time and looked great. We did have a problem with one of the coffee tables where the wood was splintering a bit they allowed me to swap it out with a new one when I came into the store. Fast forward to this January and the king size bed had some slats that broke. Despite Kimo's not even carrying the bed any longer and that it had been 18 months since it was purchased (out of warranty) Richard, the new owner, without hesitation had a person on his team go out to our place and fix the bed. Not being on the island it is so important to have people you can rely on and help you out in a tough spot. I will definitely only buy from them in the future and Richard is an honest person that stands behind what he sells.
