Another exceptional experience today 10/19/2020 at Dr. Ogata's dental office. I find Dr. Ogata and his office to be among Maui's very finest. Dr. Ogata is a superb dentist, and his hygenists terrific. State of the art equipment (including Covid19 protection) and a caring attitude amongst all in the office. Ron Schecter Maria, my new dental hygienist, was terrific: thorough, gentle, and intelligent - a great combination. Ron Schecter One of the amazing aspects of Dr. Ogata's office is not only the superb technical skill of Dr. Ogata and his entire staff, but also the consistency of their application of that skill. Each visit is as fine as its predecessor. Additionally, the office continually incorporates all the advances in equipment. For example, a recently installed electric plaque scaler used in my cleanings finely regulates its water flushing element, so I no longer have that drowning sensation which earlier models caused. Ron Schecter My subsequent visits to Maria continue to find the same outstanding technical skill and caring experienced in my initial visit. I never thought I would look forward to having my teeth cleaned, but I now do. My wife uses another dental technician in Dr. Ogata's office, and is equally pleased. How fortunate to have such care available here on Maui! Ron My experience with dental hygienist Maria continues (this Sept. 2019) outstanding. In addition to her marvelous blend of thorough yet gentle cleaning technique, she educates how to improve my gum health by identifying the areas that need special attention, and specific approaches to use (including even a gentle massage!). My wife is similarly most pleased with her hygienist Sarah. All in all, a wonderful office! My teeth cleaning yesterday with my regular hygienist continues to be superb (see comments above). In addition, Teal, who covered for my wife's regular hygienist (who is on pregnancy leave) was terrific as reported by my wife. Teal provided my wife with multiple insights into brushing with a new electric toothbrush, state-of-the-art dental floss, etc. The hygienists in Dr. Ogata's office are jewels in the crown he has fashioned, making a marvelous compliment to the outstanding dentistry he (and his dental assistants) practice. March 1, 2022 yet another fantastic teeth cleaning with my regular dental hygenist Maria - thorough; nearly painless; informative; very pleasant. My gums continue to improve. Office is spotless, and staff thoroughly professional. On this Feb. 28, 2024, another superb teeth cleaning for myself and my wife by our dental hygenist Maria at Dr. Ogata's office. My hygienist Maria is amazingly consistent in her fine care. My September 24, 2025 was no exception....

Dr. Ogata Is the best dentist I have been to... trust me I've seen more than I'd like to admit. He is gentle, knowledgeable, friendly, with state of the art technology and has a sense of humor.

He recently set my implant and once it was in place he saw it wasn't fitting the way he felt it should. Dr. gave me the option to wear it while on vacation then have it replaced when I came back or take it out and upon my return from vacation it would be ready. The tooth had to go back to Oahu to be remade, I decided to go with option two.

When the oral surgeon took this tooth out he accidentally knocked out a small patch/filling I had done at the base of the tooth where your gum line is. I asked Dr. Ogata should we refill this area again, his reply was if it was his tooth he would not, then gave me the reasons why. Made sense to me and saved me the time and money, this impressed me.

Today was my first appointment and I was very pleased with everything. Starting with the most lovely lady at the front desk, she is very sweet and helpful. The Dr’s assistant is very professional and efficient. She showed me around the office, and i was impressed with the quality of all technologies they use there. Dr Ogata is very accessible and super nice. He explained everything about our short term goals, making an immediate plan of action for my concernsand his recommendations were in line with what I believed too we should do. So, all in all, a wonderful visit to the dentist, which is something I never thought I would say! I chose this office (among multiple other options in Maui) based on the reviews.
