PMI Maui — Local services in Maui

This review is reflective of the PMI property manager and not a review of Maui Kamaole. There are many fantastic Maui property managers and private condo owners whom we have rented with and our name remains in good standing with them. We love this area!

PMI condo in the Maui Kamaole complex was updated and nice, but there were quite a few little black bugs in the upstairs bathroom. The bigger concern - PMI didn't honour a refund THEY offered (stated in 2 emails). Refund was for an interrupted stay with painters in our condo and lack of access to our lanai. It really interrupted our stay and we got less than 24 hours notice this was happening (Day 2 of our stay). The offer was clearly too good to be true as the refund never came. After our checkout when we questioned why no refund was forthcoming, PMI attempted to gaslight us and somehow blame us for not honouring their offer. Yet they won't say in writing why they won't refund us. In one phone call they minimized the interruption of painters entering our site while we were in there - yet they were the ones who offered compensation in the first place. That is sketchy?!

Truth is, if you make an offer, honour it or people won't trust you, PMI. Whether you like us or not, whether you see us as rude or not, customer service would mean you follow through with what you offered otherwise your customers will be frustrated.

And yes, we did hang up on one call with PMI AFTER they refused to send the offered refund. We were gobsmacked they would be understanding during the stay and then refused to keep their word.

Regardless of how many great reviews they get, we will never trust them again and that is more important to us than a condo’s decor or updates. I see most times they respond to reviews, they state “it is unfortunate…”. This is indeed unfortunate that PMI won’t clearly outline WHY they won’t honour...

Our stay was over Aug/Sept of 2022 over the Labor Day holiday. Similar to another reviewer - I originally found PMI Maui on Airbnb, but used PMI Maui's actual website to direct book with them. Our group was 2 adults + our 3-yr-old along with 2 grandparents. We stayed at the Kamaole Sands 6-406 which was on the 4th floor and had a view of the pool. Matthew from PMI was helpful and responsive, and we were very happy with our rental unit. The condo was clean, recently renovated and looked exactly as pictured. Check-in and check-out were easy. Matthew was even able to get us checked in an hour earlier thanks to the previous renters leaving early in the morning and coordinating with the cleaning crew. Our recent stay in Kamaole Sands 6–401 exceeded our expectations. The condo was well appointed, comfortable, clean, and one of the best locations in the resort. We had ocean, mountain, pool, and garden views. The sunsets from the large lanai were spectacular. The beach is right across the street and included with the condo is everything you need for the beach; chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and snorkelling gear. This condo sleeps six comfortably. The beds were comfortable and I have to say that the sheets were the softest I have ever experienced. Sunrise coffee on the lanai was peaceful and enchanting.
