Subject: Complaint Regarding Expired Product and Unprofessional Customer Service I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with a recent experience at the Marc's store located at 4519 Mayfield Road, South Euclid, OH 44121. On January 6th, 2025, I purchased a bottle of Lifeway Kefir Cappuccino. Upon tasting the product, I immediately noticed an off-flavor, finding it sour and unpleasant. I checked the expiration date and discovered it was 12/25/24, meaning the product was significantly expired. I contacted the store immediately and spoke with a manager named Brandon. I explained the situation and requested a refund or an exchange. Mr. Brandon assured me he would check the shelf for any other expired products. The following day, on January 7th, I returned to the store to receive my refund. When I spoke with Mr. Brandon again, he stated that there were no expired products on the shelf. I responded by saying, "Okay, so I must have grabbed the only last expired one." To which Mr. Brandon simply replied, "Yes." However, I observed that on January 6th, there were multiple bottles of the Lifeway Kefir Cappuccino on the shelf. On January 7th, when I returned, all the bottles were gone. This strongly suggests that Mr. Brandon removed all the remaining bottles of Lifeway Kefir Cappuccino, including any potentially expired ones, after my initial call. I found Mr. Brandon's response to be misleading and his attitude unprofessional. By claiming there were no expired products on the shelf, he attempted to shift the blame onto me and avoid acknowledging the store's responsibility in selling expired goods. I am deeply disappointed by this experience. Purchasing expired food is not only unpleasant but also potentially harmful to consumers. Moreover, the lack of accountability and the unprofessional behavior displayed by Mr. Brandon are unacceptable. I request that Marc's take appropriate action to address this issue, including: Retraining of staff: Ensure all employees are properly trained on product rotation and quality control procedures. Investigation of the incident: Conduct a thorough investigation to determine how the expired product ended up on the shelf and also I do not appreciate Mr. Brandon’s lies regarding there were no expired drinks on the shelf from the beginning when all the remaining expired bottles were removed the following day and Disciplinary action: Take appropriate disciplinary action against Mr. Brandon for his misleading statements and unprofessional behavior. I expect a prompt and satisfactory resolution to...
Read moreThis locaton of Marcs is by far one of the 1st of many that I can say is my favorite, I have experienced disappointment last week and then today, I don't know if the problem is new management or ownership but the shelf in the front close to the register with plants is a MESS, succulents are being drown in water, plants not placed in the proper section based on prices so when you take one to the register the price is higher than whats on the shelf or has a different price altogether which isn't on the shelf at all. Mars seems to be going downhill, I asked to speak to a manager he said he was the manager, I asked for his name he didnt want to give it. This makes me feel like regular employees are answering the phones pretending to be the lead person because the guy had an attitude, young folks don't seem to be mature enough to be in supervisory positions nor management, they say disrespectful comments, I let it go, someone else might take things to the extreme because the disrespect is real. Folks are on posters that say missing. No matter who you are or where you work, don't be disrespectful and don't be rude. Folks working jobs they don't even want yet they took it. I probably wont return to Marcs, it's no longer the wonder that it used to be, I will also say I bought for soups for 3.97, Dan Dee Cheese curls, shrimp , popcorn and two hot tamale candies and that came upto $38.00.... I am now resorting to growing my own fruits and vegetables. Corporate greed...
Read moreToday, 3/13/24, I was at the Marc's location in the Eastgate Shopping Center: 1:26 PM - 1:55 PM. I was looking for the glass tea kettles with the colored handles that I had purchased from Marc's in the Closeouts section however, I didn't find one today. I decided to purchase a pair of 0.99 reading glasses. When I walked up to the Customer Service desk to pay, I looked on my left-hand side because the store manager was standing there looking directly at me. As soon as I placed the eye glasses on the counter, he walked away towards his right-hand side / the back of the store.
Was there something about me that he felt was suspicious?
1st, I have been shopping at that Marc's since it opened. 2nd, I don't drink, smoke, consume drugs, & I have never & would never steal. I have a lot of self-respect for myself so the behavior from the store manager isn't appreciated.
Please let me know why it occurred.
If it's because of individuals, (whom I am trying / like pulling teeth, to have investigated), it would make my life a lot easier if someone would come forward. (YouTube: GinaCalabrese5.54).
I tried to submit this in "Contact Us" page for the location but it...
