Sugar Snap — Local services in Maynard

We came here to buy goodies for our daughter's Easter basket in an attempt to support local business. We were excited to find fun and inexpensive items and were getting ready to check out when we heard an upsetting conversation taking place between 2 female employees and a male customer, who seemed to know the employees well. The three of them began a dialogue about the state of the country, including blaming immigrants for "taking over" and repeating, "Illegals lives don't matter" (something that is also written on the man's car), along with other hateful things. My first qualm is that the employees shouldn't be having these conversations loudly in a store with customers in it- there is a time and place and this isn't it. My second concern is the content of the conversation. We put our items down and left the store and will not return. I understand freedom of speech but there is no place for hate in our town. We are sorely disappointed that we cannot support this local business anymore and even more disappointed by the offensive...

I would LOVE to give a positive review to this place, as it is a small business and local to where I often need party supplies! I have tried to place orders with them twice - today and a year ago - for large orders of balloons (the first time was a bouquet delivery, and this time is for a large arch). Balloon arches are very pricey ($250 + $100 deposit + $20 delivery fee), but I am happy to support small businesses rather than the big corps, like Party City, etc. Unfortunately, Sugar Snap has been unable to accommodate either request for me! So disappointing! Sadly, they are not open Mondays and could not accommodate a balloon arch order I need for a Tuesday in two weeks because they open at 10am on Tuesdays. Again, I wish I could give you my business, but you have not been open when I need your services! Perhaps you would consider paying someone to come in an hour early to fulfill $300 orders? I know that times are tough and people don't want to work, but I'm sorry I could not order from you! :( I will try...

Awesome store, great prices, excellent service! I have been back several times now for party/gift/holiday needs. The owner is extremely helpful and offers great advice to help the customer achieve what they hope to for their special event. Delivery service for balloons is well-priced and reliable. The in-store selection is tremendous and you can find practically anything you may be looking for (and even things you didn't know you were looking for!) I can't say enough good things about this local jewel of a business - so nice to have them in the neighborhood and not have to travel to the chain stores for...
