The assistant manager Alex was extremely rude and unprofessional.
I have been working remotely and I decided to purchase an Asus 27 inch monitor (~$250) instead of using my 14 inch laptop screen. Immediately I noticed a white tint that made it difficult to see and read. After adjusting the contrast and color settings on the computer and and monitor I was able to suppress the white tint, but videos still looked horrible. I decided to upgrade to the Dell S2716DGR which was over $600 since I will be using it for gaming as well.
I went to return the Asus 27 inch and they were doing “curbside returns”. That’s when I was greeted by Alex who said to stay in the car (understandably so) and that he would take the monitor inside for inspection and processing. He returned saying that I was missing the power cord and screws and that he would be denying my return. I tried explaining that I made sure everything was packed and included in the box but he got very defensive, and started cutting me off mid-sentence saying he had no reason to lie and that he would be willing to share the camera footage with me. I was thinking that the employee who unboxed the monitor likely accidentally dropped the power cord and perhaps didn’t notice, but instead he took it as an accusation that he had purposely removed the cable from the box. So, I requested for him to share the camera footage since it was clear to me that he was not willing to listen to anything I had to say. He responded that he couldn’t do that at the time because the store closed in 5 minutes and he had to close the store and get it ready for tomorrow so to return the following day. Having worked at Best Buy myself for 4 years, I found this a bit odd but I was willing to return to resolve the issue/misunderstanding since assured me that he would be there all day the next day and to simply ask for him.
The next day I show up at 10 AM sharp to speak to Alex again. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, one of his associates came out and said he was on a conference call and would not be able to come out and see me. The associate asked if he could take my monitor inside to which I agreed, but was a bit confused as to why he was taking the monitor. The employee returned with a receipt in hand and a FULL RETURN! Did they end up finding the cable? Just less than 16 hours ago, he denied return explaining that nothing could be done for an incomplete return. All of sudden a return is done, no questions asked?
I firmly believe that this cable was overlooked/misplaced during their inspection as I don’t think any Best Buy manager would do anything dishonest or unethical towards their customers. Alex, please take the time to listen to what your customers have to say next time; not everyone is out to abuse of Best...
Read moreWorst service I have ever received. We purchased a washer and dryer from this location, the ordering was fine. The delivery for the items was to occur on two seperate occasions. No issue with dryer, was here within a weeks time. I was told the day I purchased that the washer would take 4 weeks to arrive, I was ok with this as it was rhe brand and size I wanted. Here we go, I was told a day before my delivery that it would arrive between 1 -3pm. That very day as we waited between that window, I received a text message that Bianca would arrive at approximately 2:30. Well, 4pm rolled around and I received yet another texr that I needed to call in to schedule an appointment. I went into this Mcallen store, no one could tell me what happened. One rep said it was discontinued, another that it was sold out in Texas. My only question, did it sell out that day?? Could I not have recieved a notification to make arrangements in regards to my washer?? I have called numerous times, been on hold for hours. No one has tried to make contact with me to resolve this issue or at least apologize for their lack of communication between store and warehouse. I still have no washer. It has been 4 days since my delivery was supposed to occur and not one time has best buy tried to contact me. Please, if you are going to purchase items from here ask many questions, call to check between delivery dates because best buy won't. I have tried to call corporate, they redirect me to the Mcallen office. Its ridiculous.
Update: I was finally able to get speak to a store manager and appliance rep. Was not able to come to an agreement but the effort from them was given. The washer has in fact been discontinued and I was not interested in proceeding with...
Read moreI am making a formal complaint. The curbside representative did not greet me nor provide much interaction. 1 of 2 of my items was curbside delivered to me. I stated there was an item missing. He ask if I had a separate order. I stated no. He scanned my first order item and walked away not saying a word. 9mjn later I received a text and email that this item was marked delivery before it reached my hands which I found lazy of the incompetent representative. He returned with my second item from the same order to my passenger window. I made it a point to have the rude representative come around and deliver the item in my hand to the already open window as instructed in the pick up instructions. I asked for the representatives name he replies what for I replied I sure to hope you like your job and so I can make a formal a formal complaint. He stated it's early and continued to interrupt me as I explained to him the wrong doing. I then instructed him to get out of my face as I open the door which he was determined not to move as I forced my door open as he still failed to move. I immediately came across the first representative in store. Her name was Veronica which as per her was manager with no indication on her name badge. I explained the situation and she said I am sorry. I stated this was not enough and she immediately responded with attitude what would you like for me to do as if she had no care in the world. The representative that refused to provide his name continuously attempted to interrupt Veronica and my conversation. We both had to ask him to stop.
