My wife called Kroger today to order a bouquet, a specialty bouquet for our mothers for Mother's Day. Always use Kroger as one of our primary floral options. She had this phone on speaker because we were going to make some of the choices together. One of the most rude employees working in the floral department answered the phone. She initially refused to take our order, and then proceeded to tell my wife that she needed to "just come in here and see what we got.". My wife explained to her that she did not want to choose from the flowers that are already out. My wife continued to ask if she could simply order an arrangement because we did not want those that were out there, although she may pick up one of those too. This woman persisted to talk to my wife in a very disrespectful, condescending tone, at which point I told her to bid her farewell and let's call management. My wife reached out to a manager by the name of Tina, and Tina proceeded to do the very same thing and finally offered to "help you and then ask my wife how much she wanted to spend? My wife told her, and then proceeded to state that at this point, we weren't going to purchase any arrangements from them because of the treatment received.
Tina then said, "oh, OK. so you just wanted to tell me about how she spoke to you?" My wife said yes, at which time she finally offered an apology and said she would go talk to the employee. However, Tina forgot to hang up the phone before she started talking trash about my wife to whomever she was speaking to. I work at a military base locally, and I am my wife are veterans. We have large groups of friends and coworkers that we will be letting know about this experience, and also advising them not to shop at Jonesboro Kroger. We all do this at Work to let one another know when we have bad experiences while spending OUR money!! These employees failed to realize that if not for customers, they would not have jobs. We come from a different generation, and it's truly sad that people in service positions don't understand who is responsible for their ability to pay their bills.
I was going to reach out to the store manager, but I suspect the apple does not fall far from the tree. Tina's disrespectful comments about my wife, not realizing she had not hung the phone up, explains why that employee felt comfortable speaking to my wife with no respect whatsoever, since the manager was even worse! This store will never get another dime from us, and certainly some of our coworkers and friends once we share...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCan get fresh produces here. They have a wide variety of selection of just about everything you need from the supermarket. There hot food needs improvement since it can be cooked too hard or the chicken can be too dry. Sandwiches are the BOMB!!
They have a very good selection of flowers that are always fresh.
They also have a pretty decent size department for natural and organic food and beverages for a fair price.
The pharmacy is quick and easy. I never wait more than 5 minutes to get my prescriptions and the have an iutside window for quicker pick ups.
The customer service department can use more training with being more friendly and helpful but most people just buy lottery tickets or money orders so they are in and out.
Now the bad thing about this store is that the checkout lanes can be crazy long and they may only have 2 cashiers open. This can easily be the longest period of time you may be in the store for. I once made the mistake of going there at 6pm on a Friday and was in line for 45 minutes because people had shopping carts fill to the brim with groceries and there was only 2 cashiers. They have a self checkout long but most people don't know how to work it properly to make it a smooth transaction and sometimes half of them take cash and the other half only take cards with no cash back.
They have a Coinstar machine there so my Bitcoin lovers will be able to buy while they shop.
And that also have a WIDE selection of digital coupons and thing are always for sell. So for my weekly grocery shopping Krogers is usually on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe manager on duty tonight "Tylene" is what she said her name was but she was hesitant to even give me her name bc we had an issue with our card so we needed the manager. We literally stood at the self checkouts for at least 20 to 30 minutes waiting on a manager bc the cashier told us the manager was "in the parking lot talking to someone". We finally got tired of waiting and had to literally leave me buggy and my daughter inside to walk out in the parking lot and get the manager to come in while she was outside talking to her husband/boyfriend, whoever he was. I guess the manager was irritated she had to cut her chat short bc she came in with an attitude and told us we wouldn't be able to punch our card number in manually and she couldn't help us. There was no apology for the inconvenience of having to wait on her for 30 minutes while she socialized in the parking lot , and I said "next time we'll go to Walmart" and I am not kidding you, this lady really said " yeah I suggest y'all always go to Walmart" and she literally walked off as I was still talking to her! I have literally never in my life been treated like this by a manager of any business, anywhere. It was that ridiculous and you can rest assured I will definitely be going to Walmart from here on. The only nice person there was the security guard, she was...
