On Sunday October 20, 2019 I had a hair appointment with Jane at 9:30 a.m. I sat in my car and waited for her, about 15 minutes Jane showed up.. I drove to Clayton County to go to Beauty Master since she said the hair store next door didnât have anythingâ. This drive took about an hour due to traffic. When I got back to the shop, she said, to me âDang, you must went to Alabama to get the hairâ. I said âno the traffic was congestedâ. On Tuesday, October 22, about 30 or more twists had my natural hair sticking out, serval were slipping out and some had even already fell out. On that Friday, October 25th I talked to the receptionist and shortly after, an appointment was scheduled for that Sunday, October 27. On Sunday she texted me that she wouldnât be able to do it. Fast forward, Monday, October 28 Jane blamed my hair texture and length for being that reason for my hair sticking out. While in the chair Jane told me that âbecause of you, I canât even see my 4:30 appointment until Friday at 5:30 and that I shouldâve just texted her again instead of telling her manager that she didnât. While redoing my hair she notices that several twists have fell out. She says I could come back Tuesday or Wednesday to get them fixed. I went back yesterday October 30, and I tell you she was the rudest and had the nastiest attitude. I waited for her about 20 minutes until she showed up to put back the twists that had fallen out. While finishing up, I asked Jane if she could redo one twist in the front edge that was hanging down about 2 inches. She said âwhat, Iâm not about to keep redoing your hair and having you come back to the shop every time something go wrong, Iâve fixed the ones that fell out, so Iâm not about to fix something I just did Mondayâ. I explained to her if she wouldâve done it right I wouldâve never had to come back to the shop and that the 2 times I came back were very valid, I didnât pay $195 for someone to have my hair sticking out of twists, get attitudes with me, and argue with me just because they have to redo their work that wasnât obviously done right or with the right products the first time. She started going off on me, her accent got really heavy as she told me sheâs not about to do it and explained to CiCi that she just did it on Monday. So, CiCi ended up putting in the last twist and she continued to argue with me about my hair and coming up to the shop for her to redo it. When in reality if it was done greatly the first time, I wouldnât have ever had to return to the shop for anything. I spoke with the manager and told her what happened, their was more of her acting shock of Janeâs actions and words instead of an apology, or even acknowledging that she was wrong and that I shouldnât be treated that way, an apology wouldâve been FANTASTIC! I must say, she ONLY apologized that Monday after seeing how bad my hair was. I highly suggest not going to this shop. There are way more places nearby that has professional hairstylists, nice hairstylists, and knowledgeable hairstylists who donât treat you as if youâre a problem. If thereâs anything I can say good, the receptionist was really helpful and CiCi was really professional. She also did my last twist since...
Read moreYesterday I had an appointment for noon and arrived exactly 15 minutes late. I had been stopped by a cop on the way (I live 2 hours away from McDonough btw) and I texted my stylist while I was pulled over letting her know what happened. She responded saying not to rush and to get there safely. When I got to the salon, I told them who I was and apologized for being late and her whole attitude changed. She replied to me saying "I started to just cancel your appointment because I have other clients". I should have just left then when I saw she had an attitude, but I really wanted my hair done after driving 2 hours so I stayed. I start asking her a question about the hair that I brought and she just turns and starts to walk away. I finally have an opportunity to explain what I want and she says okay and takes my bonnet off. She asked me if I cut my hair and I responded yes, I big-chopped 3 months ago. She starts grabbing my hair saying it is too short for her to grip and I should have let her know. She begins to blow-dry it without putting anything on my hair to protect it. I HAVE NOT USED HEAT ON MY HAIR IN A YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After she finished frying it, she says she still isn't able to grip it and continues to emphasize how short my hair is. Then another girl from the shop walked by me and started to laugh. They told me there may be one lady in the shop who can grip my "extremely, extremely short" hair. After about 10 minutes of being absolutely angry and humiliated I decided to just leave. It was the absolute worst customer service ever. If you have short 4c hair I do not recommend you going to this shop. They have terrible customer service and they do not even take care of your hair. I have never been anywhere where I have been ridiculed for cutting my hair. I went natural and I would think at a natural shop they would understand there are short-hair phases when you big-chop. Even if they really were just unable to grip my hair, the way they went about it was absolutely horrible. You do not laugh at or talk about a customer just because you are not skilled enough to do something. They should have been apologetic for not being able to provide a service I was willing to drive 2 hours for- not laughing at me and wasting my time. To be fair, they did offer to put glue on my hair and do a quick weave which we all know is definitely healthy for natural hair (I am joking). By the way, I just had box braids in my hair so if the stylist could grip it 2 months ago, a REAL natural hair salon would have REAL stylists who could at least use hair to feed in to corn-row for a sew-in. I drove 2 hours for this appointment y'all. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!! I will never go back there. I have never written a review for anything, but this was...
Read moreThey charge experienced stylist prices but provide you with stylists that do hair like they just earned their cosmetology license. That's a fact. I've tried two stylists here. Both young. Both doing hair like newbies. Yet, charge $55 for a silk press. Why should I pay that high a price for beauty school work? I am certain the two stylists I tried, licenses are not three years old.
Let me give you specifics about my poor experience. Today, Dominique waited until she had straightened my hair all over before she asked how I wanted my hair. I wanted curls! Also she pulled so hard while curling my hair that every time she went over it (a second time) to curl it, I could feel and hear my hair breaking from my scalp. My hair smells like that terrible burnt hair smell right now as I type. That's how much heat she used in my hair. Also, when she straightened my hair in the front by my forehead on the side she came done on my forehead with the hot iron. I jumped. She said sorry. No freaking hair style is worth a burnt mark on my forehead. NONE! How about how she kept burning my scalp. Let's get on Shay. The most melancholy disposition I have ever seen exhibited by a hair stylist. She gelled down the left side of my hair. GHETTO! She did my hair thin when I showed her pictures, and told her I wanted my hair thick.
Also, apparently it's best to schedule your appointment the night before. I scheduled an appointment at 8:20 am for 10:00 am that day. I showed up by 9:50. My stylist didn't arrive at the salon until 11:10. Besides an apology, I received no recompense whatsoever for my wasted time. And one thing you can't recycle, is wasted time. And given I work full time and finishing up my second year of law school, I don't have time to waste. I won't return.
If the issues I've experienced were serious enough, I'd go on Henry County's website and file a civil suit. Good luck to whomever decides to...
