This Easter Sunday, the kids and I decided to try something different—and thanks to a buy-one-get-one-free special on a delivery app, Fatboiz Gourmet landed on our radar. We sampled two of their chicken baked Philly sandwiches: one fried, one grilled—plus a few sides and dessert. So let’s get into the full P & C’s for this spot. Pros: • That Fried Chicken Baked Philly? Fiiiiire. Seasoned to perfection, beautifully plated, and generous in size. The hoagie roll was soft, toasted just right, and reminded me of a true New Orleans-style bite. It had that authentic flavor and texture that just hit home. • The fries that came with the fried version? So well-seasoned, you could eat them by themselves and be satisfied. • And when I say plenty of food—I mean it. For the first time ever, my kids ate their sandwiches and didn’t beg for snacks an hour later. These sandwiches held them down all evening. As a mom, that alone is a win! • Banana Foster Cake was moist and sweet. You definitely have to be a banana lover to appreciate it fully. I enjoyed it, though my choice to top it with peach cobbler sauce confused my taste buds a bit. I think next time I’ll stick with the banana nut topping. • Mac & Cheese was giving Southern grandma realness. I’m not sure what cheese blend was used, but it was flavorful, creamy, and tasted like something you’d find on the table during Sunday dinner or a holiday spread. A real comfort dish. • The grilled version of the Chicken Baked Philly was just as solid. The meat was juicy and tender, and while the fries tasted slightly different than the fried version, both were enjoyable. Every bite felt intentional. Cons: Honestly? No complaints. And that’s rare. If I had to nitpick, maybe I’d suggest labeling the fries better if there’s a difference in seasoning styles between meals—but even that feels like a reach. This is actually our second time ordering from Fatboiz Gourmet, and both experiences left me feeling full and satisfied. That’s exactly why I love anything New Orleans-inspired—the portions, the flavor, the heart behind the cooking. The chef really puts love into every plate, and it shows. Presentation was thoughtful, everything traveled well, and I appreciated the generous portions (especially with kids to feed). That BOGO deal was perfect for a mama trying to serve something delicious without breaking the bank. Final Thoughts: 10/10. We’ll definitely be back again. Fatboiz Gourmet is officially in our delivery rotation—especially on days I want something hearty, flavorful, and done right.

The food was delicious, but as a first time guest, I wish the service and atmosphere matched the taste and quality of the food. My family and I traveled an 1hr and 45min to visit the Summit Racing store. We wanted something good to eat, so we googled and found Fat Boiz. Upon entry, we were told the wait time would be 50min. I’m not sure if we were told that to deter us from wanting to dine in, but there were only three, maybe four tables seated with three severs working the floor. Scanning the room, it appeared we just missed the rush hour, so I questioned the wait time. The host was very nonchalant and unconcerned, but he did seat us immediately. After being seated, two of the young ladies working the floor walked by our table at least five times with no acknowledgment. After waiting for 10min or so I was able to get the host’s attention to let him know that we had not been greeted by a server. Derrick ended up waiting on us and he was great. He was very knowledgeable of the menu, friendly, and ensured we got everything we needed. As we waited on our food, I observed the behavior of the host and wait staff. At least three tables were seated after us, and the host never told the servers they had a table. I overheard Derrick telling one of the young ladies that the party of six that had been seated was hers and she said “how”, and something else I couldn’t quite hear, but she told him it was his. Derrick ended up waiting on all of the tables in the restaurant while the other two servers walked back and forth to the back. The seating area isn’t very big, so with three severs, I would think each of them would already know which tables belong to them as guests are being seated, but such system didn’t appear to exist. The food came out relatively quickly. We ordered the crab fries, catfish dinner, shrimp, mac and cheese, collards, and sweet potato soufflé. Everything was very tasty. I’m giving an overall 3 stars because the atmosphere just wasn’t very welcoming at all and because of the amount of time it took to be acknowledged. Employees will make or break a business and as a business owner myself, I’d rather be short staffed than put up with staff who don’t want to work or be a team player, nor tolerate staff who provide nonchalant and mediocre service.

Went here for the first time this Saturday, there was a 20min wait which wasn’t bad. Our server wasn’t consistent with checking in on us but they seemed a little short on help, they brought water to the table for us and you know how most restaurants water taste like tap water. This water had such a dirty taste, im not even exaggerating when I say it tasted like toilet water. Then there was something light brown floating at the bottom of my cup (it came in a clear cup), I told the waiter to take it back and I waited for my sweet tea. He brought the sweet tea out and this time it’s in a red cup so I can’t see through it but I just so happened to look at the ice floating in the top of the cup and there was something brown frozen inside the ice cube. The manager came over and said it was probably fruit from where they cut up the fruit, she took the drink back and didn’t charge me for it but she also didn’t offer anything in return for the inconvenience. I just had to go out to my car and get a bottle of water to drink with my food. I got the ultimate loaded baked potato with steak, I really wished I picked something else out to eat. The potato itself tasted weird, I couldn’t bring myself to eat it all but the steak was really good and cooked well. The broccoli was a bit crunchy for my liking but it was still good. We got spinach dip for the appetizer and that was by far the best thing I ate from here, the dip was amazing. Overall experience 5/10

So I was excited to go to this place because I seen it on instagram. The food looked delicious. I ordered a wing meal with collard greens and macaroni and my wings was over a bed of rice with a cute flower! So I got in the car started eating my wing (I asked for them to be crispy) and I thought with them being crispy I would have well done wings. Well no my wings were under cooked….. I was like ok maybe that was just one wing….Nope I couldn’t even pull the meat apart and it had the slimy stuff(excuse me I don’t know what it is called) on the chicken. So I still proceed to look over the chicken and try the rice . The rice was crunchy . At this point I am pissed because I spent my money on this rushed food. I told my sister to drive so I could eat and that’s what I paid for. I told her to turn around. I went in and the young lady greeted me and asked what’s wrong I explained my food is under cooked. Her eyes got big and another employee walked up and she told her what I said she said omg who back there on the grill. She asked if I wanted a remake or a refund . I said refund. She said ok let me get some to refund you. After sitting for a second the Caucasian woman came up and said can you show me where the food is not cooked. I showed her as the (I assume because she didn’t say who she was) manager walk up and say the temperature of the grease is at the correct temperature. Then she said check the batch of rice. I said I would just like a refund. She then proceeded to say if the food was not to your liking we will remake it but we will not refund you . Next she say I will escalate it to corporate to see what they say. At this point I’m pissed . I told the young lady keep the food and the money. The customer service from the black lady was disgusting. If my food not done I don’t want a re-make I want my money back! I don’t care how good you can plate food if it’s not done it’s NOT DONE! Where is the customer service I decided to spend my money with you all and that’s the type of service I received from a MANAGER! The food had potential but honey they won’t last long with the leadership have horrible customer service… as go the head so goes the people….God Bless you all! Food was rushed point blank period and there was no...
