I was Ejected from the store because I did not like the service I was receiving. I saw a black pine that caught my interests. Like always, I began to examine the little tree and noticed lots of dead foliage in its dense branching. In order to get a better view of the tree's qualities, I began removing the dead foliage, something that should have been procured by nursery staff under John's leadership. I was approached by John. John the manager approached by asking, "Are you alright?".... What does this infer? It appeared that John was busy with tasks and not leading customer service by example. He was not interested in my interest to purchase something, he was focused on my objection to his reception of me. I was not welcomed by John, I was admonished. He began to walk away after my objection to his welcoming approach, and he looked at me and said, I do not like your attitude,... GET OUT OF MY STORE. I am sure this is not the Calloway Culture. Hopefully, Someone in Upper level management will have a talk with John on this matter. I later decided to shop the Plano Calloway's on Hwy 121. They had a very large selection and were more tolerate of my desire to examine the black pine for my need for ecstatic value. Thank you Mike Friend. Mike gets 5 stars. My experience at Calloway's in Mckinney,.... Rude reception, poor customer-...
Read moreI've come here before and everything was great but today there was a specific incident that didn't sit well with me regarding one of the men that work there.
I spent about 15 min looking for a specific plant and when I couldn't find the right size, I asked an older man that worked there and he just briefly told me no that they only have that one size which was huge and expensive and he walked away.
So I trusted him and went back to my car to drive to another store. But before I left, I decided to check the website and it showed that I could buy the small 1 gallon size of the plant that I was looking for and pick it up in the same store I was just in! So I decided to call the store and they said they had a TON of them on the side of the store (the one place I didn't seem to check).
So I got out of my car and went into the store again, and as I go into the side, I start seeing the plant in the 1 gallon size I was looking for, and of course, I see the same older man I had just asked earlier walk right past me as he gave me a small smirk.
If he had just shown me where it was in the first place, it would have made my 1 hour trip a 10 min one!
Lesson is you can't always trust the employees, unless this was just some sort of...
Read moreOnly been a customer of this Calloways since this spring. I usually shop the Calloways on 121. My 1st 4 times here the selection was plentiful and the salesmen were awesome. Today the salesman was ok. The flowers selection was skeletal but I’m sure they will get more flowers in soon. Today’s issue was the nonexistent customer service at the register. The young ladies didn’t greet or welcome me. Just grabbed my items and began to ring them up. No interaction whatsoever. I know thinking the salesman behind her was is management. I brought the lack of interaction to both of their attention - I may as well have been speaking to myself. Either way, this is just a training suggestion: be alive, speak, be welcoming. Not only is it free to be polite but it boost sales, reputation and builds customer loyalty. The demographic of Collin County is changing rapidly - although we may not all look the same, ALL customers should feel welcome and be treated like their business is wanted. I think I’ll keep my business at the 121 location or drive to Mariyol’s in Dallas. Longer drive but the feeling of being welcomed is worth every $100 spent. Calloways on 121 is...
