Mebane NC Very poor Customer Service I bought a bag from out-of-state store. It was ordered and shipped to me. I brought it back within a day or two to the Meban store after it was delivered because it was not what I thought. a very nice associate was assisted me in the beginning this manager came over and said she would take over. She instructed her to wait on another customer. This manager said Iām going to give you
a gift receipt. I said no I want it like I paid for it . I paid with my debit card and I want it to be put back on my debit card. She was having a hard time doing the refund. She appeared to be struggling with how to do the refund.She went from the register to the notebook to the iPad several times to the phone to the front to the back she could not figure out how to do this refund. I had the receipt the tags the box and all the paperwork it had never been used because of course I just had received it opened it Sunday brought it back Sunday. She was rude. She had made a comment that I could take it back to Tennessee where I had ordered it from I said no I didnāt drive to Tennessee to get it so Iām not driving to Tennessee to take it back then she said I could take it back to Concord. I said no Iām already here iat this store. She did everything possible, not to return this purse for whatever reason I donāt shop here normally because it has such bad customer service And the manager must uphold their behavior obviously because it continues.i. I was in there for over 45 minutes when she held the box and said I canāt help you now. you can come back. I said no Iām not coming back but I will contact corporate. She didnāt care. I mean she had humiliated me in front of all the customers they were looking at me like I was doing something wrong that I was trying to return something that I hadnāt paid for when she had the receipt The box the tags and the debit card it was paid with then she put it back out on the floor when she was doing all of this and didnāt even know where the bag was for a few minutes and had to go and ask ..for a long time. I had stopped shopping at this Mebane outlet because Iāve had experience poor Customer Service in the past Most of the stores give great customer service Tennessee gave great customer service over the phone . I even called them they offered to help her she refused to talk to them. I asked her to call the manager maybe they could help her with the refund I asked for her to call corporate. I asked her to call somebody to help her. I asked for her name. She refused to give her name to me . The customer service she was given at the end of the day she wins I will never shop at this store ever again and I will tell everyone I know about the experience I had. I really hope Customer Care checks into this and holds her accountable for her actions because if they play the video they can see how long I stood there from her going From the book to the iPad to the back at one point, the young girl that was on another register said are you being helped? I said she went to the back and she had been gone for a while and Iām not sure what sheās doing and then when she finally did come out that was toward the end, she said, said I canāt help you. Youāll have to come back. You can come back later and thatās when I told her no Iām not coming back, but I will contact corporate concerning this experience,, but she didnāt care if I could give her less than one star I would the only reason I did one star is because Coach normally gives great customer service . Iāve been a loyal customer of this Coach store for years and have made many purchases here without any issuesāuntil this recent visit, which was absolutely unacceptable.
I came with my mother, who was interested in a particular bag. However, all the ones on display were visibly used as samplesāclearly handled and tried on by many customers. Naturally, we asked if it was possible to get a new, untouched bag. We were polite and respectful in our request, but the store associate shut us down immediately without even attempting to check for stock or offer alternatives. She showed zero willingness to assist.
As we tried to approach the cashier to see if someone else might be able to help us, we noticed multiple staff members pointing, whispering, and clearly discussing us while glancing over repeatedly. The most outrageous part? The manager herself was standing right there, instructing staff not to assist us, all in front of usāno attempt to be discreet. It felt humiliating and entirely unprofessional.
To make matters worse, when we finally reached the cashier, the manager insisted that āsomeone had already helped usā and told the cashier to record the name of the staff member who āassistedā usāironically, the very one who had refused to help in the first place! This was clearly a coordinated attempt to cover up their poor service and shift blame away from themselves.
This wasnāt just bad serviceāit was blatant discrimination and targeted mistreatment. I've never encountered such collective coldness and disrespect from an entire team, including management. Where is the customer care Coach is supposed to represent? Why are loyal customers being treated like nuisances or worseāas if weāre not even deserving of basic courtesy?
I have NEVER felt so unwelcome or disrespected in any luxury retail store. The behavior of the staff and especially the manager was appalling, and completely unprofessional. This experience has deeply shaken my trust in this brand.
Coach, you must do better. I strongly urge your corporate team to investigate this store and retrain the staffāespecially managementāon how to treat customers with basic dignity and professionalism.

I recently drove over 45 minutes to pick up a prepaid online order at Coach, only to encounter one of the worst customer service experiences Iāve ever had. According to the email instructions I received, I was directed to enter the store and proceed to the counter to retrieve my order. However, upon entering the store, I was stopped by an employee named Marietta, who informed me in a very condescending tone that I had to wait in the long line outside, despite my order being prepaid and ready for pickup.
When I explained the instructions I had received, she rudely dismissed them and told me I was ānot better than the people in line,ā even though they were there to shop, not to pick up orders. She then ushered me toward the door, refusing to provide her name when I initially asked, questioning why I needed it. Only after I insisted and explained that I wanted to provide feedback on my poor experience did she reluctantly give me her name.
To make matters worse, Marietta claimed she was taking pictures of the line to ādocument her side of the story,ā but when questioned by someone in line, she admitted she was only doing it to intimidate me. This behavior felt unprofessional and needlessly confrontational. At one point, she forcefully pulled the door closed while I was still close to it, creating an unnecessary and uncomfortable situation.
After being told the wait could exceed 2 hours, another employee (who was polite and helpful) stepped in and resolved the issue by assisting me with my order. I deeply appreciated this individualās professionalism, but the experience with Marietta left a lasting negative impression.
For a brand like Coach, which prides itself on quality and customer satisfaction, this kind of dismissive, intimidating, and condescending behavior is completely unacceptable.
EDIT - The manger, while willing to listen, did not indicate that she would take any corrective action to ensure this doesnāt happen to someone else.
