First visit to Wayback Burgers was today, and I will not be returning. 1. I am not a fan of a la carte pricing but even less a fan when the food quality does not match the pricing. 2. We ordered a chili and slaw dog ($6), an impossible melt ($11), a regular order of tater tots ($5), a kid's chicken tender meal with fries ($9), and upgraded the kid's drink to an Oreo milkshake (+$4). These aren't exact prices but, with taxes, we paid $38.50 for a meal that we were sadly disappointed with. 3. Chicken tenders and fries were overcooked. My daughter was hungry and said it was okay. I would not have served anyone food that looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. 4. Hot dog was fully split open, making it difficult to hold. Taste was ok but did not enjoy the presentation. 5. Impossible burger and tater tots were tasty. I asked what the difference was between a garden burger priced about $2 less, and was initially unable to get an answer. The young man taking the order eventually explained the added Swiss cheese, sautéed onions, and 1000 island on the impossible burger. My fault for not asking what kind of bread and assuming it was Texas toast or sourdough (solely based on pictures displayed). Very sad to see it was just an inverted hamburger bun. It was also a bit dry, but I just added extra ketchup. 6. The worst part... the milkshake! Disappointed my daughter and myself. They charged an additional $4 to give us a milkshake that had a weird aftertaste to it. Both adults tasted it and immediately noticed something off. Unfortunately my daughter said it was fine because she didn't want to lose her treat. But after a couple sips and noticing that she wasn't even drinking it like she usually would, I took it back. It tasted like the ice cream was old or freezer burned, or the milk was old. I went the same young man who took our order to inform of the weird taste. He took it back but offered no compensation. I requested a soda to replace the milkshake and he gave me a large soda cup. He honestly looked confused as to how to resolve the situation. So with that said, we will not be returning to the restaurant.

This has got to be one of these dirtiest establishments I have ever seen. I was with my daughter who decided to go in and grab some fries real quick after shopping at Tanger outlets. This was on August 25 2022. I have been there a few times a couple of years ago and it was not at all this horrible, so I wonder if there’s new owners. The entire floor of this restaurant was scattered with all manner of trash from fries, to dirty used napkins, salt packets, straw wrappers, spilled sticky ketchup, visible grime, pieces of food and more. Behind the counter the kitchen trash was visibly piled up to overflowing yet I saw at least 3 employees, who apparently are not able to see that their entire store has trash either on the floors, counters, prep area and the takeout station along overflowing in the trash cans. It was not busy. They had dirty soiled rags near where they prepped food and plated food. There were piles of of used kitchen gloves just sitting right next to the prep station and near the cash register. There were discarded napkins right near where you ordered your food and a soiled counter. There was personal affects piled up right next to the register including things that shouldn’t be where you prepare food. Tables were sticky and dirty. A woman came up from behind the store with one of those neck fans on her head and said it down right next to food prep, did not wash her hands. Needles to say I did not order my kids any food and left. It was really rather shocking and bizarre. If I could see all of this from just walking in to the door and up to the register, I can’t imagine how horrifying it must be in the back 🥺🥺

I have no complaints about the food. It was hot, cooked to order, came out hot, and was tasty. I have a few complaints, though. The burger was a good portion, and so were the tater tots, but it was almost $80 for my family of 4. We could have gone across the road to CookOut, got a burger that was just as tasty, and ordered milkshakes with all our meals, and it would have cost me around $40. This brings me to my next issue. I wanted a cup of water because I don't like Coke Products. The cashier said they didn't have cups, only bottles. I didn't want a bottle, so I went without a drink (my choice, I know). The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day. The trash cans were overflowing, and it looked like the tables and counters hadn't been wiped all day. This is forgivable because I know Tanger can be busy, especially being the weekend before school starts. My biggest complaint would be the code for the bathroom. I understand trying to prevent non-customers from using the restroom, but our code worked once. What's up with that? I've worked in the food service industry for 26 years and understand food costs, staffing issues, and the ins and outs, and try to give some grace, but after reading reviews with similar experiences, I felt I should point these things out as well.

First time and the last time! My family and I decided to grab lunch while shopping at the Tanger outlets today 6/29/25. The confusion surrounds my daughter’s and I food order. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders and I ordered a burger combo. We attempted to order my daughter french fries along with her chicken tenders, and we were informed by the young girl taking our order that fries were included with the chicken tenders. When I picked up my order and took it back to the table, I realized we only had one order of french fries. I was supposed to get fries with my burger combo and she was supposed to get fries with her chicken tenders. I went back up to the counter to the girl that handed me my order and told her that I was missing an order of french fries. She didn’t have any ready and said she would drop some for me. A few minutes later, the manager came to our table and aggressively slapped down our receipt that he had printed and sarcastically informed us that we did not pay for a second order of fries but he would give a free order this time. I informed him that we didn’t want anything for free. We actually were told that the chicken tenders included french fries by the young lady taking our order. He said no she didn’t tell us that and that he heard what she said. (Side note he wasn’t any were near us while we were ordering) I said excuse me are you accusing me of lying? And I stood up. I said let’s go have this conversation with your employee that informed us that the fries were included. He refused and said don’t make a scene. I insisted since he wanted to make a big deal out of this and had accused me of lying, so I followed him back to the counter, and the young lady was standing there, and I told her what had happened and that I was being accused of lying and I asked her to please tell him the truth that you told us that the fries were included. She did the right thing and immediately turned to him and told him exactly what happened and that “it was her fault”. He later brought the french fries to our table and slammed them down. I told him I wanted an apology and he refused and acted aggressively, as if he wanted to fight me to the point that another woman employee had to push him into the back room. The man that I am speaking of, I am assuming he is the manager and looked of Middle Eastern descent with a muscular build and short dark hair. I asked him for his name, but he refused to...

I would give zero stars if I could. We recently had our first (and last) trip to this restaurant as we were out shopping for vacation prep. We decided to eat at Tanger so we could head straight home without making another stop. So we decided on Wayback. Worst decision ever.

Our order was taken quickly, but the positives end there. They’re very serious about the bathroom being for customers only. So much so, that you can’t even use the restroom until you pay and receive a receipt on it that has a code to unlock the bathroom door. Nope, not kidding.

My husband ordered a milkshake. Our name was called to the counter and the young man handed him two. He told him twice it wasn’t ours but the worker was adamant that was ours and there was no telling him different, so he took both. Five minutes later, the guy I assume was the manager came storming over to our table “Let me see your receipt. Yeah that’s not yours. You took someone else’s!”

Sir. No. Your worker handed them to us after being told TWICE they weren’t ours. Don’t come at people like that. Then our littles had to use the restroom. Guess what. Our receipt was printed without a code. I went to the counter. “Manager” looked at me with a “what do you want” tone, not even a verbal acknowledgment. So I asked the code to the bathroom. He jerked the receipt out of my hand to point out the code that wasn’t there. Once he realized it wasn’t there, he HANDED ME SOMEONE ELSES RECEIPT. Best part? The code didn’t even work.

The food was overpriced, undercooked and sloppy. But to us, service is absolutely everything and we will NOT be going back to this establishment. Absolutely...
