Stopped by tuesday for a few items, about 5 pm. They were out of bread for the third time in a row. I picked up a couple other things and saw that the double doors were open into the stock room, with a woman sitting in the back. I took two steps into the doorway and said 'excuse me' to get her attention. Immediately she was confrontational, holding up her hands and repeating loudly over and over to 'get back ma'am!'. I shrugged and took two steps back over the yellow line. I heard another woman shout loudly-complaining- from the back that it was the 'second time today!' (apparently someone else approached the entryway that day). I asked about the bread, and she said harshly that everything was out, and when you shop in the evening it's likely to be gone. It was her tone that got me. She repeated that I needed to stay out of the back room.... OK. First off, I was not in the back room. The entryway was about four feet long. I was about 12 inches into the doorway. Second, they had the doors PROPPED OPEN. People could easily see them back there. It's an invitation in places like that. Thirdly, I used to do grocery management for a living. And that attitude was uncalled for, and downright rude. I half expected them to throw me out of the store by the way they acted. I get it that aldis is kind of a walmart atmosphere, and things get tough. BUT I DID THIS FOR A LIVING...and these two women need to be written up at LEAST. You DO NOT treat customers that way. My fourth point is-- order more bloody bread if it's out every night at five pm...
Read moreFirst impression is neat, clean. Aisles are spacious. Most of their house brands are as good as the national brands & less expensive. Employees are friendly, attentive & helpful. Only reason I gave it 4stars is sometimes they run out of items on special (like their meat specials on Wednesdays). Its nice they take more credit cards when before it was limited. You have to call an "800" number for information & cannot contact them directly. It would be nice if they had music. Meat selection in August 2020 is limited.
Updated...2/16/22 Noticed the prices on just about everything has gone up. Pizza, purified water & dairy for example. Its about 8 cents on the dollar. I go to the one in Medina right off Hwy 55. Was shopping around 3pm & the lines seem to be getting longer & there is usually only one register open (last few times). I usually use my "Wings" Credit Union debit card to pay, but the card has been coming up "Declined" or "Please Swipe" or sometimes I have to try multiple times to get it to work. A woman who is an RN kept getting declined & she was frustrated. Another customer was getting declined too - we all had enough money in our accounts. My credit Union told me there are known issues with Aldi card readers in Apple Valley also. I have told them & they say "ok" or "I will mention it". Something is wrong. Read moreI’m not one to leave reviews on places but this interaction I had with two employees today just blew my mind out. I went grocery shopping today and part of it was my fault. I had gift cards and I went to go check out my groceries and I was in the self checkout not realizing it said no cash and no gift cards. When I had pressed the help button the lady working the register said “what do you need” I asked her if I was able to use my gift cards at self checkout and she rudely said “no you cannot”. She then proceeded to help a customer which was okay by me as I’ve worked in customer service. I then stood at the checkout for 3 minutes while she was still doing things. I then saw another employee walk past. I said “excuse me miss” and she opened her mouth like she was going to say something and then walked away and didn’t ask if I needed help. Then I clicked the help button again and the lady working the resister said “what do you want me to do about this” I than said “could you cancel the transaction and I come into your lane” she proceeded to ignore me for another 2 minutes and then got up and canceled the transaction. Shoved the recite in my hand and then rudely (again) said to me “ you will need to get back in line”
