The drs here are awesome. We went for many years and I really liked them both as people and drs. Unfortunately I think we need to switch because I donāt feel like I trust their staff anymore. Three things happened last time we were there- They gave me the wrong prescription (I asked for one daughters and the gave me one for the other daughter who doesnāt even need glasses). Ooops. They tried contacts on that daughter. It didnāt go well cause daughter is young and was unprepared (not their fault at all- actually nice of them to try). It was recommended I donāt go with daughter cause kids do better without mom. I asked if they took the contacts off. Yeah. Oh well. NEXT DAY- they call me several times, frantic that oops- they actually forgot to take her contacts off. My 10 year old had contacts stuck to her eyes overnight and for 2 days? So that resulted in an extra trip to get them removed. It was fine. Sheās fine. But do I trust them? Less and less. We all had our appts (fam of 5) and they called us 2 weeks later to say weāre overdue for our appts and itās time to get in. Sigh. Are they too busy? Idk why they keep making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes, I get it. But I want to be extra careful with my kids vision and
Last thing thatās bugged me every time I go is you have to be prepared because they ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS do an upsell and sales push. Without fail. If you say the word makeup- omg- they sell special makeup! Your kids need glasses or contacts- omg- they have special glasses and contacts and therapies to sell you! Sometimes they even make it sound scary if you donāt do it - like when my son was in elementary school and had a -3 prescription, they made sure to tell me all the scary risks that increase if his prescription keeps bumping up so I realllllly should try to do the special $6k (idk- v expensive) treatment to stop his progression. Spoiler alert- heās almost graduated and prescription is the same. No way to predict but glad I saved money. And itās probably actually all good stuff but itās also $$$$$. Itās very interesting. You have to gear up to be ready to say no to alllll the things. Every time. Iāve never been to an eye dr like that before. Good for them for running it like a business and I hope it brings in tons of money for them, but sometimes I just want to get checked out and not feel so pressured. Itās every time. Any little thing. Maybe thatās just me. Anyway- 2 stars cause I like the doctors a lot and know they do good work, but feeling less and less safe going there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Complete Eye Care for a routine exam, and overall my experience was fairly positive. Pros: The scheduling staff who helped me make my appointment and took my insurance info were friendly, courteous, and always seem to answer the phone on the first ring (I love that!). I loved both the technician who did the preliminary screening and the eye doctor. Both women were kind and patient and explained what they were doing as they were doing it, along with answering all my questions (in terms easily understood by a lay person, but without dumbing it down). I also appreciated all that their office did to demonstrate cleaning and sanitizing routines. And I really enjoyed the woman who helped me with picking out my glasses. Cons: So my experience was 80% positive and I do intend to return for my future eye care needs. However. I spent the last 15-20 minutes of my visit feeling pretty anxious because in the showcase area where I was picking out my glasses, one of the staff members (I believe he was the optical manager?) was only partially wearing his mask - it was covering his mouth but not his nose. This surprised me because there are signs everywhere mandating mask wearing (so working for a health care provider I assume heās wearing one every day), and itās pretty well known by this point that partially worn masks are ineffective. As well, there were two patients in the same area who werenāt wearing masks at all, despite signs being posted all over the place that masks are required. (They were working directly with staff, so staff were aware they were maskless.) In sum: I was extremely disappointed to find a health care provider ignoring some of the most important steps to preventing the spread of Covid. My familyās activities outside of the home are painfully limited, and I didnāt expect to feel unsafe at an eye clinic of all places. That said, were this a non-pandemic year, Iām sure Iād be giving this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a bad experience at this clinic with the front desk and after care questions with Dr. Wesley, we are not sure why our post was removed but if you never have questions then you are fine.
But the front desk continually had issues with me separating my appointments for my children as I didn't want to interrupt nap and they called me over three times to ask to move them together. After this we had a question over a bill and Dr. Wesley left two back to back messages on my husband's work phone not even my phone who was the responsible party. Privacy is of question as I am a provider and leaving sensitive information on a phone is a HIPAA violation... we posted a complaint with the BBB and she threaten to sue us for leaving a review. I would recommend looking for a different clinic if you are new or if you are existing just be careful if you ever have a question!
Yes it still bothers us after four years. Feeling the pressure and threat of having a provider threaten to sue you over leaving a review about your clinic. It makes me question your other Google reviews.
Shining a flashlight in a kids eyes is not similar or even close to an adult eye exam and charging me for services (refraction) that you didn't even perform on my child. I have had better eye exams at my medical doctor then you have ever performed in your clinic for our children.
I haven't been able to trust bringing my kids to another eye doctor because of you. So yes, how you responded and how you still choose to respond does affect how we see your clinic and I hope that you have taken measures to make sure that nobody else ever gets treated like us. You can't even following the proper HIPPA protocols set forth. Placing our names on the better business bureau website,...
