Wiemar's Jewelry — Local services in Memphis

My wife and I are pretty simple people. We are both teachers and have 3 children, so we don't splurge on fancy clothes. cars, etc,,, However, for our 14th wedding anniversary I wanted surprise her with a nice pendant and/or pair of earrings. I went here after asking some friends/co workers for recommendations on jewelry stores, and I will not go back.

After showing me a beautiful pendant that was well out of my price range, the woman helping me (who was very nice) went to a back room of the store to ask the owner/manager how much a pair of earrings cost. The man, very loudly and in front of another customer, sarcastically stated, “my god...what is this...let’s make a deal day? Is he buying it or what? It’s $300. No. Tell him it’s $2,000 dollars!”

I was not trying to “make a deal.” I was simply asking how much the earrings cost. There were no visible prices on the jewelry that I could see, hence the reason I asked how much they cost. This guy's business was obviously booming and he was clearly too busy to be bothered with me. Just...

So... let me start by saying I've used Wiemar's for many years. Have recommended them to everyone I know. Service is always impeccable & so is the quality of work they do. Until this time. I took a few sterling silver rings in to be sized & a necklace to switch out a charm. The rings are noticeably darker in hue after sizing than they were before (they were bright white/silver) IYKYK. Was told that's the best they can do or I can pay to have them rhodium plated. Um... NO! esp at $60ish to do it!! It already cost more than the rings were worth to have sized. Anyway- also on the most cherished ring- my mother had given me before she passed- there's now a dark spot on the coin part of the ring. Didn't dare bring it up bc I'm pretty sure I'm already known now to be hard to deal with. I'm upset. I definitely won't go back for anything even non resizing things. Just a warning- proceed with caution on items like this. I'm down a lot of $ on things that...

My fiancé had a wedding ring handcrafted. He had no idea how to create a ring and David took care of everything. David melted both of his grandparents rings together to create the most beautiful ring. The ring is extremely special to the family and the last name was engraved in it so beautifully.
