My daughter and I have been here a several times since last summer. It's a great activity to do when you want some quiet time and are feeling creative. They have so much to offer, from ceramic, fused glass, mosaic, canvas! There is a sitting fee which pays for the time spent at the studio as well as all the paint used. Each ceramic piece is a separate charge, but the prices are not too high. There are lots of variety of colors and some even have sparkles in them. The space has to over 5,000sq ft! Lots of different tools, sizes of paintbrushes, stencils, sponges. I love seeing the finished pieces which can be picked up about 7 days later.
We've also held my daughter's birthday party here. I booked the private room which held 25 kids comfortably. The have a whole wall of a dry erase bored and designed the wall with HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA (SUPER CUTE ALL THE KIDS WANTED TO TAKE PICTURES BY THE WALL) I had parents drop off the kids which worked out nicely. There was another party in the other party room, it was nice to be able to close the other party room to keep out the noise and windows to look in to the open space. For the package I chose, each child can chose and paint a ceramic at 16.00 or less. I arrived a little earlier before the party start time and set up the decorations, all of the ceramics were put on the table for the kids to choose. This helped prevent the awkward situation when a child wanted a piece that cost more than I allocated.
The party host set up all the paints and helped with serving the food. I made sandwiches and had chips and fruit kabobs for the kids. We brought in food, cakes and drink and had tons of room:) The party ran smoothly and the time (1 1/2 hours total) was perfect. All the kids had fun. The pieces were nicely wrapped to be picked up in 7 days with the kids names on each wrapped piece. I had the option to pick up the entire package of ceramics or have each child pick up his/her own later on.
Overall, a great party place and just hanging out place for kids 2 years and older. I'd say that it's not as suitable when the child is under 2 because of lack of attention span and ability to sit still!
A nice change from a lot of the other indoor venues for parties. At Just Kiln' Time, the kids are all in one room and have to talk to one another and be...
Read moreI visited Just Kiln Time recently and, unfortunately, had a rather frustrating experience. My friend and I went to paint pottery and had it on one order. I was initially told they would be ready by the 1/16 after 4 pm, over a week after I had painted. When I went on that day and time, it wasn't ready. In fact, the staff member couldn’t seem to find it at all. The staff member found my friend’s mug fine but not mine, so only half the order was ready at the time she told us to come in. I ended up having to go in three separate times before I could pick it up, each time being told it "must be in the kiln." While I understand things can get delayed, the repeated lack of communication and no clear explanation about why it was taking so long was disappointing.
To make matters worse, when I returned the second time, I wasn't offered an apology for the inconvenience. Instead, I was given a "free studio fee" for a future visit—nothing to cover my current order that was causing me trouble, which seemed like a poor attempt to make up for the issue.
Overall, while the pottery is fine, the customer service and the lack of clear communication left me feeling frustrated. I ended up wasting a lot of my time, and the staff members time. I really hoped for better service and a more accommodating experience, especially considering the delays. I wanted to give this feedback to help improve the experience for others and help prevent it from happening or being handled...
Read moreWe visited this past week with a group of 5 ladies to celebrate before a wedding. There was a table of 3 people, and no one else there. The staff was very un-personable, unresponsive and unhelpful. No one asked us if we needed help and no one explained what do to or what our options were. When we did ask for help, the young lady was not very knowledgeable and tried to go back to her desk as soon as she could, sometimes before we were even done asking questions.
Some of the group was from out of town, so we paid extra to have our pieces expedited. When we came to pick them up the lady pretended not to know about it, had to call other co workers, and gave us a 15 min explanation of why she didn't know what we were talking about. We had to show her a picture of our items before she found them, and they just happened to be finished. Then she couldn't find any of her tools to clean off the sharp edges and it took her another 10 mins to figure that out. She did not have good customer service and did not present herself or the establishment in a professional manner.
The prices are also a little steep. Most pieces are reasonably priced with some being expensive, but you have to pay an additional $8 per person for the studio fee.
Overall, we were not impressed. I would not...
