JCPenney — Local services in Merced

Since December I have been in to this store several times and it has really been on the decline for some time. I didn’t realize they no longer sold Nike shoes. Luckily I found some Sketchers, but they’re just not the same type of athletic shoe. Their return policy stinks. I just saw another review now that I wish I had read before to keep me from wasting my time of going out of my way to return! When returning with a receipt they will give you half the price or less. Do not believe hassle free returns with receipt! What’s the point!!? Even on a card, they won’t exchange, so why open a card? There’s not much of a benefit (I’ve had mine at least 20 years). I couldn’t even get the manager to come out to talk to me. I find myself going less and less to this store and it used to be my favorite to shop at. It makes me not want to shop there anymore. It was the best store in the mall, now slim pickings in Merced.

Update: By the way I HAVE called AND emailed, and I can never get a hold of anyone. I haven’t gotten a response from the email. When I called customer service (3/4), I think it got rerouted to Merced and the phone just kept ringing in the system. The customer service rep just says make the complaint to us, which I did, only to be sent back into the phone system. I’m so tired of dealing with JcPenney now.

Like buying jewelry here. Great picks for great prices to give as Christmas stocking stuffers to my daughters. Lab created stones that look good and good price so if something gets lost it's no big deal. Girls love it. They also now seem to have a better selection of clothing. Recommend checking it out. Update 7/2023. Good selection of clothing. I like the Liz Claiborne line. My daughter has found pants in the Forever 21 line. Clothing selections have improved. Good prices, great discount coupons. Friendly, friendly sales clerks. I enjoy shopping here in Merced. Update 7/2024 - same review. They have great sales and great coupons. Good selection of clothing in men's, women's and children. I also bought towels for a great price....

Well not to happy I bought some baby clothes for 2 little special people in my life. A newborn great nephew. Plus his 5T big sister whose birthdays are just a day apart. I purchased some booties for myself and some bras. It took quite awhile to find the right size ...my fault for not being through. But, there was no one around for assitance😒 then to look for my size they were all in the bottom... Some of us really can't squat or drop it low to check the lower racks. I am so annoyed that JC penny's has gotten so bad. It's as bad as being in Wal-Mart and I don't really like shopping there. So the bras are going back...As it is I don't like shopping and this makes me not...
