This was our second time staying here and both times, we felt the hotel in general was a good choice. The hotel overall seemed to be clean and well maintained. We had a 2 bedroom suite both times, and for the 4 of us, it was plenty of room. We were not tripping over each other. Loved the full kitchen. We didn't cook in our room, but having the full sized refrigerator was perfect to keep our beverages cold. The staff were very nice and helpful. Annette, who was working the late shift at the front desk was great and was able to help me out with a couple of requests. She was very personable and I was happy that I was able to talk with her even for just a few minutes!||||I am not giving this hotel 5 stars because of parking. The hotel is right next to an apartment complex, which I am guessing houses mostly college students. The weekend we stayed, there must have been parties going on at the apartment complex. I observed several cars filled with students, park in the hotel parking lot and walk over to the apartments. They were taking parking spaces that should be reserved for hotel patrons. The parking lot quickly filled up and there were some very unhappy guest of the hotel because they could not park at the establishment that they were paying a lot of money to stay at. Then, well after midnight, these same individuals returned to their cars but were extremely loud. I'm pretty sure that this was not the first time nor will it be the last time that something like this happens. There really should be some system in place that prevents non guests of the hotel from taking parking spaces from paying guests. I am considering staying a bit off campus at a different hotel brand next time I am in East Lansing. The parking issue is a problem and as a paying guest, parking should...
Read moreOh, do I have SO much to say. What a surprise. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. It's so random!
I was in East Lansing for a work trip for about a week and a half, and this place ended up being such a comfortable little home base.
Yeah, it's on the older side and the carpet smells a bit mildewy (like any hotel with carpet). But the bed was great, the pillows were great, the shower was comfy, and the kitchen was surprisingly great. Except for the occasional sticky/dirty cooking utensil. Blegh.
The air conditioning was solid even though it was an older model. It actually stayed on all night (which I can’t say for a lot of newer hotels where it shuts off to "save energy" and the room gets so hot).
On to the staff. I couldn't have loved them more. Every single person at the front desk was so friendly and so welcoming. Chris, in particular, was such a delight— so helpful with anything I needed and always making sure I felt taken care of. THAT is above and beyond service.
I also loved the little outdoor patio area...quiet, peaceful, and a cozy spot to just chill. The location itself is great too— access to restaurants, the athletic club, the gym, and so much more right across the street.
I didn’t eat the complimentary breakfast, so I can’t speak to that. The hotel gym was small but cute, though I didn’t use it.
As for sound, yes, you can hear doors closing or someone's alarm going off from the other rooms, but honestly, that’s part of any hotel stay and it didn't cause any major issues.
Overall, I was BEYOND impressed. For a 3-star hotel, I definitely left very happy. If I ever find myself back in East Lansing, I think I would happily stay here again. Highly recommend, my...
Read moreWe stayed here for 6 weeks and loved it. The rooms were immaculately clean. We were in an end 2 bed unit which was great. The kitchen even had a little window which was great to open while cooking. All the people working there were so friendly and offered expeditious service. Hannah at the front desk greeted us upon check in and made sure everything was acceptable in our room. Nadine went up to our room before us and did a quality check. These front desk women were on the ball! Breakfast was really good as they offered fried eggs vs the typical scrambled you get most of the time and on Wednesday’s they had Colby cheese omelettes which were delicious. Marianna greeted me every morning and even took my waffle out of the iron while I was busy talking to the front desk one day. She always made sure there was enough food out. I liked that they had syrup for the waffles out on the tables too. The place was clean, cozy and very friendly. If you need to stay in Lansing and want a homey feel, then stay here you won’t be disappointed. I usually leave my hotel comments on their surveys but didn’t get one from them for this property. I felt impelled to write something as they were too good to not say anything for as good...
