I really like this store a lot especially because of the owners! They are very friendly and sweet people. As for the store items, I cook heavily and am learning to specialize in Korean cuisine so they have all of the ingredients that I need when I need them. They are a bit far from where I live but because they have so much I try to make the most of one stop. They have everything from fresh produce, to pickled vegetables, frozen meats and mandu, to sauces, spices, sweet and salty pastries even beauty, cleaning, and household products.
EDIT After a one year hiatus, I finally made a stop again for my kimchi-from-scratch supplies and learned that the owners of Lotte Market have opened a small restaurant inside of their store. I ordered food to go and am so incredibly happy that I did! I ordered 3 items from their 'K-Food' part of the menu: the Bulgogi Bowl (thin sliced beef), the Tteok Bokki (rice cake), and Kimbap (seaweed roll) with crab. Every item was so delicious!!
The Bulgogi Bowl came with rice and was topped with a handsome amount of Bulgogi dressed with onions and scallions. The sauce tied everything together. The Bulgogi Bowl was incredibly delicious, savory, and made me so happy I ordered!
The Tteok Bokki was perfectly spiced, seasoned, and dressed with fish cakes and egg. The rice cake itself was soft and chewy and didn't lose its density nor harden even after I left it open for a bit.
The Kimbap was simply delicious. I appreciate the owner making an accomodation as I asked for Kimbap without pork. They made it with crab only instead and I could tell the roll was filled with fresh cut veggies.
They had other entrées as well such as Fish & Chips, shrimp and other seafood items, and sandwiches. They serve chicken wings and noodles with additional add ons, sauces, and drinks as well!
All in all, the food was awesome in taste, quality, and presentation and best of all it all took me back to over a decade ago to my time in Seoul and that just made me so incredibly happy!
10/10 would...
Read moreThis is wonderful little Asian grocer with a focus on Korean food items. Despite the location, I feel like it might be often overlooked. I know I did up until a few months ago. Once I finally stepped in, I realized they should be my first stop for kitchen staples.
Not to be overlooked, of course, are the premade items up front and the jars of various kimchi. I didn't know there was such a thing as cucumber kimchi, but why wouldn't there be? Those items are made to perfection.
The staff is also very kind and will let you know about some of the items you bring to the register. Wonderpokki is popular in Korea especially with kids? Good to know because I'm trying it with mine. Ottogi Snack Ramen is a good mild ramen? Great!
There's a bigger store a few miles down to road. They're great, but come here instead if you're looking for a short trip. No wandering aimlessly. You can find what you need, maybe grab a few snacks on the way out, and...
Read moreGood Korean grocery, on the small side. They have a great selection of dried noodles/ramyun/ramen, good spice/oil/ vinegar section, and a decent frozen section. The fresh foods/produce is minimal however.
But to me the best party is the service, here they care about you and your shopping experience. Willing to answer all questions in a friendly manner. It is simply impeccable. They even direct you towards better options/prices to save you money.
They sell a lotte brand kimchi, along with other brands, and have different styles and sizes as well, chopped or whole cabbage, pa (scallion) kimchi (I would assume it was jjokpa, but could be wrong).
Prices are a little high, but appropriate for the size and style of grocery. But definitely worth the price for the level of selection...
