I went to this particular Dicks Sporting Goods Store about 3 weeks ago to get my teenager some Soccer equipment and clothes. I also experienced an extream lack of employee helpfulness as mentioned in other reviews. I stood in the shoe area and then the middle of the store for 20 minutes. A couple of employees zoomed passed me. I waved at them, but they went about their clearly more important task. Quite a bit miffed, I gathered my kids and went to the register for assistance and expressed my concern of lack of help. After a radio call, someone appeared and kind of helped. Better than nothing I guess.
Okay, fast forward to today. My wife goes to Dicks unbeknowest to me (i would have told her elsewhere, Big5, Kohls, Jacksons Gas Station or local Piggly Wiggly) to get some Vollyball apparel for our now very expensive daughter. She had the EXACT same experience, except the person who got radioed was far less helpful than mine. Waving his arms saying āthis is what we have in stock.ā
I donāt like to givr negative reviews and Dicks would have slid under the radar with us, but they burnt us twice. Maybe the other locations are better? Maybe? I doubt it.

In their grief, no one realized how bad the bugs would be after the sun set. As soon as we did, we started searching and calling everywhere to find some sort of shelter from the mosquitos. We finally found a screened canopy in stock at Dicks just a few minutes before they closed. I quickly called them to see if they could please wait for me just a few minutes and if they could pull the canopy to the front so I could check out quickly. They told me not to rush and that they would wait for me as long as they needed to. When I got there, the product was waiting for me and the entire staff was there asking how else they could help. When I checked out, the manager gave me a discount of the entire purchase price and when I protested and offered to pay, he told me not to worry about it and wished me the best. I was truly touched. We brought the canopy home and set it up and it worked perfectly. My family member passed several hours later with his wife by his side in the outdoors he loved so much. Thank you for your compassion and generosity during this really difficult time....

I bought a pair if shoes and superfeet inserts yesterday, and turned around to return the inserts the very same hour, as I changed my mind about them, but they would not let me return them. I thought it was because of my using Dick's credit card, so I used a different credit card. But it made no difference, because after a few returns they will BLOCK your ability to return anything! BEWARE of this. Never before has any store blocked returns for me, and I think this practice is deceiving, unjust, and sick store policy, as they connect themselves to such a group and practice They are a high ended, rich priced store which forces you to keep what you buy without having the freedom to return. It is disgusting, and i wish I hadn't bought my shoes or ANYTHING there. Never again will I shop there, and nor do I recommend it. (Wait 180 days the policy says before you can return again) Disgusting, and low down...
