Gemini Shop/Salt Spa — Local services in Merriam

Heartbroken with my experience at this store. I was referred to Gemini by a good friend of mine and was a loyal customer for about two years. Sheila & I built a great relationship overtime and I never gave her or her employees trouble anytime I visited whether I was by myself or had my child with me. That was until my last encounter in her store were she shut the doors on me as if my child and I wasn’t welcomed or bothering her as we were just walking in the store. I didn’t take it personal until she shut the doors on the other side of the store while I was looking for sage. There was no excuse for her to shut me out when she did not have a valid reason to do so. My child and I NEVER made any attempts to approach the back of the store (her office) nor have we been considered as “bug bugaboos” while making purchases and/or retrieving readings from her. Majority of my time spent there I was only just buying products and will sometimes have brief conversations with the staff. Don't get me wrong Sheila is a busy woman but she also knows that we are both adults and she can communicate that with me instead of using that unprofessional gesture she made during my last visit. She also knows I am very understanding to her business and she has is NEVER afraid to let me know if she’s not available. To add insult to injury, as I was leaving with my child and passing by the store in my vehicle I saw her outside her office helping the other patrons that were in the store before and after I made my purchases which means that she didn’t want to assist me to begin with. Moving forward I will be taking my services elsewhere and continuing my journey. I have no ill will nor any hatred in my heart for Sheila or anyone that visits the Gemini Store. The memories and experiences was good...

I'm the mom of the graduating daughter who's appointment was incorrectly canceled. My daughter was really upset, as was I, understandably. Going from the excitement of getting an aura healing session to being stood up is quite a range of emotions. Went down the street to eat and finally got a message from Sheila. One of her employers canceled the session based on a phone call from "someone" moving it to another day. No name or phone # was given but it wasn't me. I said the EMPLOYEE is incompetent, and SOMEONE should have verified the change. And I'll say it again. They had my name and number (and money) from when i booked the appointment. Some kind of cancelation notice or email confirmation would have been SUPER helpful in this situation. At any rate, after eating, re-centering and letting it go we went back so she could have her session. Sheila, unfortunately, was not able to "move on" and wouldn't see my daughter, based on my "over the top" reaction.

Sheila, is this the same employee who didn't show up to cover the 5-6 time of my session back in March? I purposely made this appointment outside store hours for that reason exactly. Kind of a no win...

Walking into Gemini, the vibes were amazing. The owner, Sheila, was kind and very helpful. Her knowledge of her merchandise is extensive, and she made sure to ask all of the questions she needed to point you in the right direction. Her shop consisted of 3 (maybe 4? I might have missed one) rooms, and each had it's own focus, which I loved. She had a wide array of stones, pendulums, sound bowls, candles, lamps, salts, herbs, incense, tarot/oracle decks, jewelry and home decorations (most of them with a metaphysical use).

While looking at her tarot and oracle decks, she has one unwrapped deck of each, allowing you to look through the deck prior to purchasing. I've never seen this before, but I think it's a genius idea! My biggest complaint with decks is that you don't really know what you're getting before you buy it. Such a great idea!

I bought a couple of stones that I'd been needing to add to my collection and an oracle deck, but I could have easily bought a dozen more plus some salt, herbs, and decorations.

If you are in Kansas City, or planning a trip, I would highly recommend stopping by. Definitely one of the better metaphysical shops...
