This was our first time here and it was awesome! I tried to call the shop to see if they had availability, but the phone wasn’t working. I was passing Johnson Dr on our way home and figured I would just pop by and see if anyone is available. I walked in and was greeted right away even though everyone had a client and I asked if they had any open spots to cut my sons hair and he said absolutely, bring him in. I grabbed him from the car and we got seated with Ozzy right away. His dad normally takes him for a cut, so I am not super familiar with the guard numbers. I knew he wanted a hard part and a fade so I tried to show him the best picture I could quickly find and it was a terrible one. But he saw enough to get a general idea and said he would start a little longer because we can always go shorter. My son was also wanting a lightening bolt. So Ozzy whipped out his phone and showed him some options and they picked one and he went to work. He did an amazing job! He was quick and thorough! Absolute cleanest lines I’ve ever seen on my son. And he did awesome on the design too! I will also note, that both Ozzy and the man who greeted me were extremely respectful and polite. As I am sure that all working there are, they were just the two I spoke to. And while I was waiting, an elderly woman came in and the man who greeted me, who I believe may be the owner, stopped what he was doing to greet her politely and ask her what he could do for her. She was just looking for a drink machine and they don’t have one but they had a cooler with some soda and also had water bottles. She asked for a water and he ran back and got her one and when she tried to give him money, he wouldn’t accept it. And to me, that speaks volumes about a person. My son absolutely loves his haircut. He said it is his favorite haircut he’s ever gotten and that he’s so happy he looks so cool. And confidence is something my son has struggles with due to some bullying issues at school. He’s been beaming since we left and sending pictures to people and FaceTiming people so they can see his cut because he feels so good! So, thank you so much to Ozzy for getting us in right away without an appointment and for making my son SO happy and for giving him such a confidence boost. It has filled my mama heart so much! We don’t live close by at all, we live off 159th and Nall and were driving home from Science City. But my mom loves right by the shop and I’ve passed it dozens and dozens of times. Read moreFirst visit, made an online appt.. . 10 minutes after my appt time the guy tells me he didn't know I made one and he's got a couple people still in front of me so it'll be about an hour more. (I also received an email reminder the day before so I bet he did too). Second visit yesterday, got there at 4 as a walk in. Everyone had people in the chairs so we wait. One guy finishes cutting someone's hair about 4:30 and decides a game of pool in the back would be better than helping the waiting customers. After that, he comes back and starts combing his beard in the mirror for a few, sweeping and and cleaning up to close (now its 5 til 5). One of the other guys is over eating and the other two have people in the chair still. Not ONE of them said a word to us about when exactly they were going to cut my son's hair so we left finally with no cut. NOT a good way to treat ANY customer, especially a potential new one. I will not go back for a third time and do NOT recommend this place because they are rude and unprofessional (unless you are one of their friends, then they'll obviously play pool with you, ignore customers and laugh about...
Read moreI can't really defend a higher review than 1 star for me . I waited for 75 minutes much longer than most would. I never had anyone check on me besides the first guy who assured me that I'd be seen in a few minutes when I first got there. I watched as the person supposed to cut my hair took other people who did not have appointments before me and never once checked or gave an explanation. I'm willing to accept an early appointment went long which made their book out of whack is possible but that definitely wasn't what was happening even if it was to just let someone just sit for over an hour after saying "a few minutes" and then never updating them or explaining why other people were being seen before when I arrived 5 minutes early for my appointment is such bad service. I had heard good things but honestly I don't think I'd go back, there's plenty of competition now and days for barbers so maybe it's just fate and this place...
