JTC NAILS & SPA — Local services in Merrifield

I was expecting great service based on reviews and pics but not quite. I scheduled a gel x service and received a text message that the person I booked cannot do gel x so I asked if anyone else is available who can. I got a message asking if I could come at a different time only to get there and drill THE F&@$ out of my nails to remove the old set. I guess the first person seemed more patient not sure because then I switched to the owner/manager not sure who it was and she was EXTREMELY ROUGH. Typically with Gel x you remove the polish with drill and soak off. One of my nails was broken and needed to heal first which is understandable but then she told me she could not do the rest of my fingers that had no issues because her THUMB NAIL press on from the gel x set she had would not fit my finger (hilarious!) which makes no sense I never had that happen before EVER. She could’ve just told me in the TEXT MESSAGE that they don’t do gel x and saved me a half hour of my time. When I asked to soak my fingers because of her rough and rushed behavior with the drill I was told it takes 1 to 2 hours to soak off which if you’ve done a new set with gel x before you would know this is COMPLETELY FALSE. She doesn’t listen, shoved my hands around and was really rough and in a hurry for no reason-mind you there was ONE other person in the shop so what was the rush for? This place doesn’t know how to do GEL X so not sure why they offer. I can’t speak on any of their other services but seems like they really don’t care and are happy to drive away paying...

I was charged $95 to receive a “spa” pedicure with gel polish. Now, I’m all for a luxurious experience but this price point is exorbitant as there’s no way this salon can compete with other salons in the area, in regards to ambiance, product quality, and attitudes of staff/ownership. There is no price list posted in the salon and the website does not provide information for any “spa pedicure service.”

Upon me walking into the salon, Mary was already in an agitated state but I knew it had nothing to do with me so I exercised some compassion so that I could proceed with the service I made an appointment for….

At checkout, Mary assumes that because I engage in a dialogue either her that I was dissatisfied with the service she provided. Immediately after she tells me the total is $95, I ask for an itemization of charges - Mary becomes even more agitated, rude and despondent

She states that prices are listed on the website and that they usually charge $85 for a “spa pedicure” but because I was “dissatisfied” with my service she only charged me $75 for the “spa” pedicure and $20 for the gel polish.

I’ve posted screenshots from the website to demonstrate there is no information online or in store about what they charge for a spa pedicure.

While staff may be talented BEWARE of their underhanded, coercive and manipulative price gauging practices...

Customer service is terrible, I recommend people to go somewhere else. Usually it’s mediocre—I’ve been three times since the artistry and nail quality is good. Today the service was horrible…Phuong spent majority of the 3 hours on the phone in an extremely heated conversation…she was also rude the few times she’d acknowledge me. At first I was okay with her on the phone because she asked for 10 minutes at the start to finish up her call. Then, we started and I didn’t think she’d be on the phone for too much longer but it kept going. Her being on the phone made it hard to interject and ask her questions though I tried. To give me instructions, she would just gesture and was argumentative when I advocated for what I wanted. She even cut me off at one point to tell me “I already told you it wouldn’t look the same since you wanted a refill not a new set”…I was asking to adjust the roundness of the heart design. At one point she vaguely gestured and when I put my hand in the dryer, she aggressively yanked it out before walking away to continue talking and drink water. And at the ending, I asked for help putting on my sandals and she said "no, your nails are dry". Extremely rude, I will not be back and recommend others to find another place with...
